Hamilton lol, he had to beat one other person in the best car available and that still went down to the last race, mccilroy had to beat dozens of others with his talent alone, no special clubs where only he as a user will get 50yards extra from driving it! what a joke

You better believe it, Froch has all the charm of a bus drivers sock. He is a bitter insanely jealous individual of other fighters achievements.

I take your point, but you would kinda expect him to be likeable though, wouldn't you? Froch ain't. He's got the personality of a psycho :yep

But you're right about *****. That lad must have ***** like coconuts to win like he did against Taylor and turn that first Groves' fight around after the shellacking he took in the early stages. Respect.

it's funny how froch is well-liked within boxing and broadcasting but cretins on the internet who've never met him know better.

he appeared pretty humbled and honoured to be nominated, but somehow that's jealousy of calzaghe? some real bitterness about, just not from froch.

You have hit nail on head, good post pal. I have met Froch at a charity event he hosted, and he was a straight laced honest bloke, that had time for everyone. He is also strong minded as you would expect as when at the Q&A he was asked if he was friends with anyof the Forest players he mentioned he was friends with Kris Commons who has just joined Derby from Forest and when his fellow forest fans started shouting abuse about Commons he told them all straight that Commons was released by Forest, was clubless and Derby offered him chance to provide for his family, and he said he would have done same, and when they kept it up he said don't slag my pal. So it showed me a guy with principles, properly why he is well liked, and he was charming when you spoke to him yourself too.

Yeah your right I would. He's a bit of a PR nightmare as far as I can see. It's like Degale, the man shouldn't be allowed near a microphone because every time he is there's a flood of diarrhea comes out of his mouth. But actually I have met him and he came across well and was more than happy to give pictures and talk away - haven't met Froch so can't say the same.

Anyway, none of them have a particularly good personality from what the media shows us. So based on achievements this year he was way off. Reckon Mcilroy should have got it

The right person won imo. It was a great occasion and a great KO but beating Groves isn't enough to me. Hamilton and McIlroy were rightly the two favourites. Both are arguably the best in the world in their sports, preformed brilliantly and achieved great things this year.

Still scratching my head as to how Hamilton won.

Petrol heads must come out in force for SPOTY.

Anyway its a joke award that the BBC likes to hype up and pat itself on the back for.

In F1 it's the car and always will be the car which wins.

If you've got two drivers taking a corner, one car can do it at 100mph and the other can do it at 110mph, the faster car will win no matter whose driving it.

Look at Button, win nothing with teams either side of his one year with Brawn.

I'll never understand why it's do popular, it's like watching football and the richer team can field extra players...

I would guess it's because F1 has quite a strong history and love of F1 plus Golf is boring as hell to watch and few people have even heard of Jo Pavey. I know many people also find F1 boring to watch but I think maybe F1 is seen as loud, high speed, high adrenaline, dangerous, glamorous, technologically advanced etc. Golf by comparison seems like a quiet, boring, slow paced and mainly for older people and ong distance running isn't all that glamorous or exciting either.
