It's funny how you conveniently forget to mention Lewis getting rocked on more than one occasion, a typical tactic by you.

    Absolute BS! >>>
Lewis was trying to make matches post Klitschko and only retired when the WBC said take the re-match or be striped of your title!

No, that is just what a re**** like you chooses to believe. I think what is really eating away at you is Lennox Lewis being a black guy that earned well over a hundred million, paid all his taxes, no creditors, no scandal, and still a very wealthy powerful guy? Unlike a lot of black heavyweights who end up potless.

My guess is that's what is actually bothering you. Don't worry I can assure you when I and others have spoken to him when he is in England and watches West Ham he really doesn't give a fvck about his detractors, he just looks at his financial records and smiles.

Mendoza, when you gonna get it through your head that lewis retired from the title around the same time or after every other hw champ in history.

he was retiring as norm, its not lewis fault that prime vitali didn't have the ability to beat faded retiring lewis.

you demanding that lwis keep fighting in his 38th year was not the norm, therefore your claim is not the norm. You are arguing against the grain. You should not do something so stupid.

Lets hope you haven't been arguing something so dumb for long.

Well, I used to think that Lewis had nothing left to prove, but then I thought better of it. I mean, as we were watching here in the UK at the time, there was an obvious sense of panic during the fight, with my friends and I all hoping the doctor would wtop the fight on that cut. When it finaly happened, there was a huge sense of relief by all of us British boxing fans. Lets be honest, although Lennox wasnt at his best, we all did know it was a lucky escape.
After all of the put downs and sarcastic "compliments" by Lewis before the fight, and then declaring in the ring that he would definately give Vitali a rematch, it is obvious that Lewis should have honored his word and given boxing fans what they were all hoping for...a rematch after such an open ended finish.
The only people who really didnt want the rematch was us Brits, because, like I said, we were so relieved after the narrow escape. I sometimes like to use the age as an excuse, but that kinda makes it seem as if Im also admiting that Wladimir is an exceptional, once in a century type fighter. Of course, I know deep down that he is, but after the embarrassment that Vitali caused Lewis, and the humiliation Wladimir caused our boy Haye, there is an extreme urge to just diminish all of the Klitschkos accomplishments and never give them credit for anything. I will try in the future to be a more honest poster. My sinceres apologies:good

This again. For a"boxing historian" you really don't do much, if any, research do you? Vitali himself claimed Lewis's mother prevented a rematch and Steward claimed his wife did. Yet you just keep on ignoring the these claims, why is that, Mr Historian?

You wouldn't happen to have an agenda or a bias would you?

As far as I know the only match Lewis was actively trying to get was a Tyson rematch, cause he saw huge $$$ with very minimal risk.

Tyson, (like Lewis did) promised him a rematch (in fact begged for one) after their first fight, and had a change of heart somewhere along the line.

But at the end of the day, Lewis decided to heed the advice of the women in his life and he retired a wealthy man with his last fight ending in a W. End of story.

There is only one window licker on this thread you inbred kunt, and you are it. Harping on about a mythical rematch that was never in the original fight contract, and slating Lewis off for something that only exists in the feeble imaginations of mongs like you. Just take your racist filth and disappear back down the sewer from whence you came, you lump of s.h.i.t.

Imagination? Are you saying that Lewis did NOT say in the ring in front of everybody that he would give Vitali a rematch? Sure, Lewis was not CONTRACTUALLY obligated to give Vitali a rematch, but after telling Vitali and the viewng public he would give him a rematch after the unsatisfying ending to the fight, he should have honored his word in my opinion.
I do give credit to Lennox for pulling off the victory. Really is his very best win I feel. i also give him credit for retiring to stay away from Vitali instead of continuing to make money in the sport while simply ducking. That woulda been really bad:good

Posting the official fight result is not exactly a thorough counter point to my opinion, but whatever. I assume by that you disagree that the proud British champion has any obligation to honor his own word? Thats fine if you feel that way, but it just felt like a welch when Lewis lied or whatever you want to call it. I kind of expected more from the greatest fighter in our countries history. Its an honor thing, ya know?:good
