Yeah but look at everything. Just last week before Mayweather mentioned Pac, Arum was saying Pac was available to fight Floyd in May for Floyds annual Cinco De Mayo fight. He said, just waiting to hear from Floyd.

When Floyd calls out Pac for May 2 Arum says can't do it in May.

 

Pacquiao-Mayweather does 3 million buys on a Tuesday with a 2:30 AM start time in the middle of January.

Making Canelo-Cotto for Cinco de Mayo will force the Pacquiao fight.

 

Honestly, if I were in Floyd's shoes, I'd try to squeeze every last penny out of it. People believe I'm afraid and they hate me, they'll throw their wallets at me if I sign to fight him. But at the same time, I'm the type of person to let my pride get the better of me. If people call me afraid, I have to prove them wrong. I'm nothing like Floyd lol I would've signed to fight Pacquiao the minute I get trashed in the media.

But look what I said. If Alvarez and Cotto are ready to go for May 2, and negotiations between Pacquiao and Mayweather are not going well, he's going to secure it for that fight. Because even if negotiations fall through for a Pacquiao fight, Mayweather is still going to want that May 2nd date against someone else. Arum, HBO, and De La Hoya want that fight date because Cotto vs. Alvarez will make a ton of money on that date. And trust me, if they can screw Mayweather out of that date, they will. I don't see it. May and September are the month's Mayweather fights (traditionally). Cotto/Canelo in May push the Floyd/Pac fight to September at soonest. Pushing this fight out more and more will kill it.

 

Mayweather has been under a lot of scrutiny for the opposition he choses. It's not so much what he does for media attention that tells me what sort of mind frame he has. Right from the get go, he wanted all sorts of extra stipulations to fight Pacquiao. Things he never did before. Now if he says Pacquiao is below him in skill, why bother with testing?

So if floyds going to fight on the Mexican holiday which is 2nd may, he needs to fight an opponent that's going to top cotto vs canelo and i reckon pacquio's the man. Hope this is enough for floyd to finally take the pacquio fight.
