I'm surprised about this. He's 40. He looks a bit like Kell Brook to me so I remembered him. Then remembered he always wanted to get it on with Hatton. Anyone watch him recently?

His 5 deluded fans were always calling for a fight with Hatton that he had absolutely no chance of winning.

Kell has the potential to be a far superior belt holder.

Hatton claimed that he had the Witter fight written into his contract.

Hatton always stated the fight didnt make financial sense as he was getting offered bigger fights commanding TV money and also the fact witter couldnt sell enough tickets to fill a bedroom let alone an arena

I watched him in Ludwigsburg last year. Frustrating fight where Junior was (for me) doing too much showboating against a young lad he could and should have clearly beaten.

I've been told that he always fights that way so fair enough but I'd like to have told him to box a bit smarter if you want the judges to give you rounds.

I still think he was robbed.

Comparing brook to witter is such an insult to special K.

Witter has always been a poser in the ring. Such an odd style for a time he was getting Euro level guys out of there as he had decent but not great punch power but his time as belt holder and his list of wins aint great. Good fighter but a level below hatton for me. Although style make fights and I think it would have been a good 'un

So when he claimed the fight was written into his contract was he telling the truth?

He is still a decent performer, at his age he isn't likely to win another title as the speed and reflexes begin to fade but he isn't getting hurt so why not fight if he wants to?

Witter can still do alright domestically. No need to retire if he's enjoying his boxing and not taking too much damage.

Witter was so awkward that he could have beaten Ricky and thats the reason Hatton didn't fight him imo. Hatton would fight anyone but the money you'd get for fighting Witter wasn't worth the risk.

Personally I think Hatton was made for Witter , he was a tremendous counter puncher with unreal hand speed. If he'd had Hatton's heart then he would have been better but you kind of feel that Witter didn't like getting hit.

Its not sad that Witter is still fighting at all, hes one of those fighters that doesnt get hurt that badly cos hes so awkward to hit, apparently also a bit of a gym rat as well so hes not like some overweight heavyweight thats going to be in real danger of gassing, getting square and leaving himself open to getting really hurt.

Witter has some very good names on his resume but he would of lost to Hatton imo
