yes thats the progression to a title fight, if your from britian. British to european level to world level. Look at other world championship routes, hes mandatory for the title. He can win it. i wouldnt say the european champion was a european bum, i wouldnt say john ryder was a domestic bum - he will be a fringe contender in the future, eubanks could be a future contender if he clears up his flaws. who has he fought doe? who he beat? Thats the most common debate from a casual.
You'd have a point if BJS looked massively impressive against the domestic level guys he's beat. He's done enough to win, but never looked like a world beater. Ryder is a great win- could go on to be a much better win. Eubank was so crude it was cringe worthy- he won't go far.
eubanks i bet weighed about 15pounds more than BJS in there. always gonna be hard to keep a much bigger man off ya if you dont carry good power.
BJS wins the first half. Then it becomes a race against the clock for Lee - win as much as the second half as you can and try scoring at least a flush enough right hook to get a knockdown (if not a KO) and tip it your way.
saunders is a middleweight if they did same day weigh ins. a true middleweight not a super or lhw. thats why i dont understand he gets new respect for his skills.
Saunders is no MW. Look at the fat he lost to face BJS, a touch more and he'd be a true LMW (which he is).
andy lee struggled with fritzgerald and horta, and was behind in the scorecards agianst korobov and jackson, he just has a lucky punch
Can't be lucky if it keeps on happening... You do realise it was the plan in his last fight. Booth was talking before the fight about catching him just like Prescott did with Khan
There's a lot going for both fighters in this fight. I think BJS is the more skillfull fighter who could outbox Lee which we've seen done in his more recent fights (although in the last 2 his rocket right hand has detonated and ended things). Lee is 6'2 and BJS is 5'11, I'm not sure who's got the longer reach and can't be ****d looking it up - many people say BJS should be a LMW, he see's himself as a fully fledged MW, Lee is another who's campaigned at MW but can also make LMW. The problem with Saunders is, he has the skills but he can drift away from the game plan and end up wanting to get stuck into his opponent. That could spell disaster against Lee.. especially when we've seen Saunders tiring late on in fights.
