Showtime is at least trying. Super Six. The 4 man bantamweight tournament. Showtime extreme. Quadrupleheaders. All access. And how many PPVs did Showtime host this year? And how many did HBO?
Yea Lampley is annoying. I can't stand his calling of phantom punches and trying to say what a fighter is thinking.
You'd probably be surprised, but the supposed boxing big wigs are not socially distant as you'd think. I've met these guys at different boxing events or seen them stay in the same hotels as I have. They hardly know **** and are prone to gossip and say **** that don't make sense. They will hang out with actual trainers in the know and feed off their knowledge. The only reason these guys got jobs as sportscasters and actual boxers do not is because they have degrees in communications or media and had the right connections. Nothing to do with boxing, less than half of them have ever gotten into a ring. Most boxers and trainers have a high school degree and usually are not as eloquent or end up punch drunk.
Though technically HBO may be better its Showtime's announcing team that is probably the best ever and what people are amost ware of.
How about a debate for the ring announcers? Michael Buffer or Jimmy Lennon? I'll go with Michael Buffer.. For a Mayweather fight, when Jimmy Lennon starts with his "Alright fight fans", it's as boring as the Mayweather fight.. that's a good start for a snoozefest though..
It does, HBO is classier in general, SHO almost feels like ESPN on steroids with the commentary and everything, boxing on HBO just feels right.
Network fanboys, I mean pacboys. Not sure who is worse little girls with their teen idols or pac boys on this forum.
as if that means anything. they also inducted sylvester stallone. stupid muhfcukas. smh. i forgot more about boxing than lampley knows.
