I can't argue with that but the reality is Khan is a much harder fight for Floyd than Pac.

 

Since when did May 2nd become Canelo's date?

1. Cotto-Canelo is not finalized.
2. Mayweather planned on fighting on that date WAY before Canelo did.
3. GBP will move Canelo if May-Pac happens.
4. You're only agreeing with Arum because he's on Pac's side.

If Mayweather doesn't fight Pacquiao, then by all means, let Canelo steal the date from Floyd. Otherwise, May-Pac is a bigger fight, they fight when they want.

May 2nd is not a roadblock, you're only saying that because Arum wants June. If Cotto-Canelo was not in negotiations, and Arum still wanted June and Floyd wanted May, you'd still say it's a roadblock. Fact is, Mayweather has been planning on fighting on that date BEFORE Canelo, he even announced it last year. The roadblock is Arum not willing to let things go as planned.

I think they will eventually meet. But unfortunately by the time it happens it'll mean fvck all.... Ideally this bout should have taken place sometime between 2008-2011.

Based on the fact that Khan is a much better boxer than Pacquiao, is taller, faster, has become an expert in controlling range, better defense and the fact that he looks like he can't be outboxed whereas Pacquiao has been outboxed multiple times now by counter punchers. Floyd is an expert counter puncher and would pose massive problems to the small Pacquiao but against Khan it wouldn't as Khan eats counter punchers for breakfast, especially ones with no power.

Yeah, the fight is almost meaningless now.
Still, people will fall for the hype and it will generated big money.

It probably will happen, sooner or later. And the chances go up if Mayweather loses to someone else in an upset.

 

No wrong answer, but the Floyd-Pac fight would cause the mainstream, commercially driven culture to stop and pay attention to a boxing match. That fight happening is the best thing for the sport.
