Beats the alternatives we see today, anyway........

So......Ali vs. Marciano, that hasn't been done in a while. Go!

Not really, no one is interested in discussing the current champion versus his predecessors. Why not talk about something completely unrelated to PUGILISM?

Okay I'll bite. Ali by unanimous decision or late round stoppage due to cuts. Marciano couldn't reach Ali consistently enough with his 67" reach and much slower feet. And does anyone really see Rocky KOing Ali...really?

I think Ali stops Rocky around the 14th with a barrage of blows after Marciano has been down for the 5th time.

Who wins out Ali vs Rid**** Bowe?

What did I miss? Why is half the first page deleted mcvey posts? Did it come out that mcvey and Mendoza were the same person all along, suffering from split personality.

Ali vs Bowe? Once again I'll take Ali by decision. Hand speed and foot speed plus a granite chin will overcome Bowe's size and power advantages. If Holyfield could give Bowe all he could handle, Ali would would give him more.

    Here's a pretty good one:

What if Larry Holmes had not abdicated the WBC title in late '83 and fought Greg Page instead of fighting Marvis Frazier and Scott Frank? Say it was Holmes first fight after the close Witherspoon win.

If Page is in shape, and motivated enough, and aggressive enough, he upsets Larry by UD, or late round stoppage, his right was no joke.

Morrison outboxes Mansour for a few mintues than walks into something big and becomes another highlight.

    Mansour has power, huge power.

    Page decision.

That would have been one of those rare fights with Page being highly motivated for an opponent he wanted to fight & it was a title opportunity. Under that scenario, Page was dangerous.

The problem with page is he's a Bowe one night only type and won't be holding onto the title long. That's also why not many give him much of a chance against Holmes. The question isn't title defenses but 1 night.

But Page and Thomas and Tubbs were 3 guys that Larry would not have defeated instead of the 3 guys he fought like Frazier then Frank and if memory serves, Rodriguez. Or was it Smith?

Lots more wear and tear against 3 youthful guys gunning for the older Holmes than the guys he faced & that wear and tear leads to a loss quicker than the Mike Spinks fight.
