There are 51 other weekends and floyd demands that it be with Cotto-Canelo card. If this floyd demand will be met, what other guarantee that floyd would not pull more diva queen demands?

Another good question is where did all this love and respect for Canelo come from? Ever since he lost at Floyd he was a bum.. Now he is a Mexican star that deserves a date over the ppv king..

Also, wouldn't be even more disrespectful for s non Mexican to headline a ppv on that date and have Mexicans on the undercard? The ultimate slap in the face right? Or is it more because Arum said something?

Are you f***ing stupid?? He has fought that weekend for years. This is not a new development.

Everyone in the boxing world knew Floyd would fight that weekend. Everybody was hoping he fought Pac for his May 2nd fight. Search through postings and articles. Countless mentions of it being a possibility on that date. Now you all say he's sticking with that date to duck... Idiots!!

Floyd has no opponent that could match the Cotto-Canelo card other than Pacquiao so Floyd better get down to earth.

Cotto-Canelo was a done deal for that date. Here comes floyd demanding the said date. Why go head-to-head with another great card matchup when a pac-floyd fight doesn't need this mexican holiday? What's wrong with making the Pac-Floyd fight in April or June?

Yes he does, Floyd and still fight on one of his other date that are profitable ..

This is the point Cinco de mio is a very profitable date for the gate, PPV,. Not to mention Cinco de mio is 4th of the most celebrated drinking days, which also add to the gate profit..

Simply put Cinco de mio is a very profitable holiday for boxing!

You're probably just a Pac fan and not boxing because if you kept up with things you would know that Cotto / Canelo is NOT a done deal. They're still negotiating.

May has been Mayweather's month for years, he is not suddenly trying to steal that date. Canelo is trying to force that date in spite because he lost to Mayweather. Next time you all are going to say Floyd is ducking or being a diva for wanting his next fight in September...

We all know it's basically a done deal. Floyd needs to claim the date and he's using pac to get the date back.

Basically a done deal is not a done deal. These things have fallen through many times. The fact that Arum is now saying, "it's disrespectful to the Mexican people" is him trying to wiggle out of the fight AGAIN. I am Mexican and feel that Canelo has not earned the position to take the top fighters pre-determined date. He did it to be an ass, and Arum is using it to get out of the fight again.

Yup it was arum who is trying to get out of a fight when he and oscar basically has a card set on that date while floyd demanding to fight on the same date? What's wrong with Floyd fighting Pac in April or June?

They have a card, since when? Cotto hasn't agreed to anything. Do tell, what card? Floyd has fought on the non-official Cinco de Mayo holiday TWO YEARS now. It's quack quack from Pac/Arum plain and simple and his fan boys defending the excuses at all cost.

They all knew that Floyd was planning that date before they even started negotiating for it... Everybody knew that. If they wanted that fight they would get contracts going and see which one gets signed first. Cotto says he hasn't signed anything and will be the final decider. His exact verbiage was that he is considering several opponents right now.

The fact that they're not even trying when the other fight ISN'T a done deal should tell you something. The smarter business move, if they really wanted the fight, would be do get the richest, most lucrative fight in boxing history signed before it slips away. Them even questioning the date means they really don't want it.

It's not a hard concept, Arum has vested interest in Cotto/Canelo and will make money especially on that weekend, Mayweather/Pac would make huge money no matter the date, so Mayweather knows this and insists on this date to force Arums hand.

Mayweather without Pac or Khan won't compete with Canelo/Cotto PPV numbers, he is getting desperate to duck now.

If a super fight doesn't get made on that date, it doesn't change a thing. If May-Pac doesn't get May 2nd, that doesn't mean they have to fight other opponents, that's stupid. So why are we, as fans, complaining about a date?

    Think about it.

My point is: trying to claim May 2 is not a duck on anyone's part.
