Yes, because they are FAR, FAR, FAR less marketable, popular, and lucrative fights than a showdown w/ Pacquiao. So the Mexican holiday is NEEDED to boost PPVs. Simple marketing basics, but you're a Flamo, so your education most likely ended in middle school.

    :rofl

    You are an imbecile.

    :hi:

It's not a duck because they can fight in June lol if they don't fight in June, April, July, August, September, November, October, December, then it's a duck. Make sense now?

    the whole situation is weird.

Floyd obviously wants may 2nd because thats probably the best day of the year to put on a boxing event due to the fact that mexicans probably order the most PPVs of anyone in america. Floyd vs Pac wouldn't really suffer from being on another day but being on may 2nd would definitely help the PPV most likely....

on the other hand...... Cotto vs Canelo would actually suffer rom not being on may 2nd. The fight will do good regardless but that fight being on may 2nd might push it close to the million dollar ppv mark

what we seem to be looking at right now is a game of chicken between Floyd mayweather & bob arum / ODLH over who gets the may 2nd date. Will it be floyd vs pac or canelo vs cotto. On top of Arum & ODLH not liking floyd their pockets would suffer if PBF vs Pac was on may 2nd because the fight won't happen unless floyd is the a-side which means he's seeing most of the money and ODLH, Arum and Pac are getting s****s.

Because there were no fights as big as Canelo vs Cotto before.

Well to be fair, it was an issue back in 2012 when Mayweather got his prison date pushed back and all Arum could talk about was Manny's cut, the need for the stadium, his confusion over who to call from Mayweather's side, and his idea that the truly correct time for the fight was 30 days after Mayweather got out of prison.

floyd knew canelo was fighting on may 2 since canelo told him its for mexicans and im not moving way back. floyd making excuses as usual with the latest ones, "pac has to leave arum, fight can only be on showtime ppv":rofl

Correction, Canelo knew Floyd was fighting on May 2. Not the other way around. But that's irrelevant.

How come Canelo didn't take May 3rd, 2014? How come it wasn't disrespectful then?

Exactly, Arum will stand to make a lot of money from Canelo/Cotto, however he stands to lose so much should Pac/May fight on the same date, thus coupled with Mayweathers split demands means Floyds again being unreasonable and trying to use a scenario to put up a roadblock.
Canelo and Cotto are probably the 3rd and 4th biggest draws in boxing outside of Pac/Mayweather.
He knows Arum won't take a double hit and lose so much money.

More underhand ducking tactics, sad to see how sedated so many are and just want to prop Floyds rep up which has been exposed for many years.
