Here is what I'm curious about. Who the hell does Arum represent here? Canelo or Cotto? Because if the answer is Cotto, why would Arum give two ****s about what Canelo wants? Especially if not fighting on May 2 isn't a fight killer which ODLH has already said that it isn't. Since Arum represents Cotto wouldn't he be more inclined to hold the fight in June right around the time for the PR day parade. I mean that would mean more support for his own fighter at a showdown at the Garden. Sounds logical to me. So why is he so concerned with what Canelo wants?

 

Everyone knows the two fights have 0 chance of occurring on the same day. Arum is the one ducking by saying he'd rather give priority for the day to a fight between the 3rd and 4th biggest draws in the sport rather than the 1st and 2nd.

 

LOL, so if he moves on a date that he's been fighting on for almost a decade he's ducking? Can't your re****ed ass realize that this is yet another roadblock by Arum. Is the new stadium ready yet? The A-side picks the date, and if Pac can't figure out a way to fight him all of his yapping about he'd fight Floyd anywhere, and anytime will be proven as just BS.

 

Why does Mayweather have to come off that date when he has been fighting on that date for so long? People say if he doesn't come off that date it means he's ducking? Are you guys serious? He's the champ, ppv king, undefeated, the draw, and now he has to move off that date because canelo wants that date. Well, let them both fight on that date.

I know you flom0s are slow but you can't be this ret.arded. Arum and Oscar has a card already set on this date. And this card is petty much sure to happen than a floyd-pac fight which depends on floyd's PMS and mood. Arum would not let two of his guys fight on the same date and split the PPV paying public. So between a sure Cotto-Canelo card and a still fantasy Pac-Floyd fight, it's not really hard to know which date May 2 should belong. Besides, a Pac-Floyd fight doesn't need any help from a Mexican holiday date and it would be just as big if it happens in April or June. Floyd is being a diva as always and this would be only his first of his many demands for a pac fight.

 

Use your brain. Cotto-Canelo can have a PENDING date. If May-Pac falls through, put Cotto-Canelo on May 2nd. Call Floyd's bluff for once, because right now, Floyd is calling theirs.

Everyone knew the fight would be on Showtime, everyone knew Mayweather was fighting on May 2nd, since 2013 we all knew. Ever since his contract we knew.

Stop acting like Canelo booked the date. It's not finalized, Oscar is willing to budge and he represents Canelo. Arum represents Cotto. OPEN YOUR ****ING EYES.

I'm pretty sure Rafael is aware of the comments made publicly by Oscar and arum, and you have to remember they are working together now, so what is being said publicly may not be exactly the entire truth of who want to hold the May 2nd date. I also think Dan has a little more inside info than we do. May explain why he went from unbiased to trying to put pressure all of a sudden.

He also reiterated there is no chance this fight happens on May 2nd.

I think at this moment in time the Pacquiao/Arum side really wants to get it done. I am not convinved Floyd does and certainly not unless he maintains control over basically everything.

Do you think Dish, Direct TV and the cable networks are going to choose two guys Mayweather destroyed over Floyd on PPV? I love both guys and I want to see Canelo and Cotto fight, but I don't think they can win that battle.

It's never going to come to a decision having to be made because Top Rank will be involved in both a possible Floyd-Manny fight and Canelo-Cotto fight so it won't ever get to the point where the cable and dish nets have to make a choice.

It is what it is. It's not even Arum. It's Canelo and Golden Boy driving the bus in terms of wanting that May 2 date. Do you think Cotto cares which date he fights on? Of couse not. He has no care about May 2, a Mexican holiday. But it is very, very important to Canelo and, therefore, Golden Boy and HBO have his back on it.

 

Been a bit busy lately but last i heard canelo cotto has not even been signed? Right?

Also i know canelo (the only mexican in the equation) has stated he would move his desire to fight may 2nd but only if its for pac-may which means arums reasoning for contesting this date (regardless of how weak it looked) is now redundent canelos happy, we should all be happy, this fight is one step closer to being made

 

how would may 5th boost the sales for a fight that does not involve a Mexican?
