In terms of Floyd's opponent choices and the history of how they've come about, it's not stupid.

Alexander by no stretch ought to be considered as a gateway to a Mayweather fight.

However, precedences have been set in which meager wins have propelled guys to scoring the 'big fight'. Algeiri over Provodnikov leading to Pac would be one recent example.

I humbly disagree with that notion. The casuals may say Floyd ducked Pac. Casuals are also the same guys that have asked me how come DLH and Tyson never fought each other.

I think looking back on the evidence, people will see Floyd did indeed try to make the fight happen and that both sides have done their fair share to hold up a possible fight.

here's to hoping they do fight in May (or June, whichever). But the bullsh!t excuse of May 2nd being a Mexican holiday and it's disrespectful (blah blah blah) needs to recognized for what it is. BULLSH!T

Yup, I can't believe Floyd is making us go through with so much (namely, putting up with Pac****s) it's getting to the point if the fight ever does happen, I'm now hoping it's competitive. Because if it's not like I don't believe it will be, I'm gonna be like "F you Mr. Mayweather...F you for making us put up with Pac****s this long when I knew I didn't have to"

A TON of HOF'ers and ATG's have said that Floyd needs to fight Manny to cement his legacy.

If Floyd does not fight Manny, he will get posted about it for the rest of his life, fact.

I think Floyd's legacy is cemented already to be honest. Everything he does now is just icing on the cake IMO. All those HOF'ers and ATG's have the right to their own opinions just like you and I do.

You really can't be serious? So it means nothing if Floyd doesn't fight Manny? Forget the '0', his legacy - the thing he lives for - is on the line of he doesn't face Manny.

Beating the most dominant rival of your era - it's how legacies are made.

You're deluding yourself if you think that. Everywhere I go, internet, boxing fan circles, casual fans conversations, whenever Mayweather is mentioned they almost always bring up Pacquiao. Mayweather's legacy right now is tied to Pacquiao, and if he doesn't end up fighting him, doesn't matter if Mayweather was really scared or not, the people will always be on his ass for not fighting Pacquiao. Mayweather will always have that one big question mark on his career.

who said it means nothing? He's enhancing his legacy as far as I'm concerned.
At the end of it, Floyd doesn't need to fight Manny (for that matter Manny doesn't need to fight Floyd) to seal their respective legacies. Both of them are ATGs already. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the fight happen, but both of their careers does not hinge entirely on one fight (however MEGA it may be).
