There's no way to defend it. Rios and Algieri were cherry picks because Arum is tapping the Chinese market. So he gives his opponent some safe fights, makes him look unbeatable to the people, before putting him China via PPV with a threat. Cherry picks, no other way around it.

 

I think it goes either way. Some days I feel Floyd wins, some days I feel Pac wins.

Oscar De La Hoya was not a handpick. Oscar De La Hoya wanted the fight. Pacquiao went up 2 divisions. Oscar bungling his weight management was NOT Pacquiao's fault. Many picked Oscar to KO Manny. Does not sound handpicked to me when the masses believe you have no shot.

Funny, because a 165 pound Margarito was more dangerous than any version of himself at any weight. He came in absolutely shredded and in the best shape of his life.

Mosley was coming off of almost shocking Floyd and then an ugly sh!tfest w/ Mora. Styles favored Mosley (much bigger puncher). He talked a gang of sh!t about going to war, but ran on fight night.

Rios was handpicked? Rios is a big, strong kid. Pac took this fight coming off of one of the most brutal KOs in the history of the sport! As a Pacquiao fan, I thought it was an incredibly stupid and risky move. I felt like he should have taken a SOFT touch (Vargas or Malignaggi). Taking this fight showed Pac's resolve.

Algieri was a handpicked opponent? Everyone knew Pac was going to face the winner of Provodnikov-Algieri. Also, you cannot handpick a guy who's a stylistic NIGHTMARE for you: size, reach, jabber, lots of movement, chin, stamina, technical boxer, etc.. AND YOU PICKED ALGIERI TO POST SERIOUS PROBLEMS FOR FLOYD.
