Because they are business men. They been true this **** with Floyd for 5 years now. They know Floyd dont want the fight with Manny. So of course they want the best date for the cotto-canelo fight. So again is business 101. Maximise profit for a fight that will happen or take a chance and lose money

And its the other way for Floyd if he lose may 2 he is going to lose **** loads of PPV. So he is doing everything to keep that date using the Manny fight for leverage.

The same can be said for Floyd. Lose a 200 million dollar fight over a date that DOESN'T need a Cinco de Mayo for promotional support?

    :hey

Are you really comparing Cinco de Mayo weekend to a freaking parade?

    :rofl

I'm not reading all the posts here, so someone else may already have said this. First remember that I like both Pac and Floyd:

When it comes to cherry-picks and tomato cans, both have had their share.

I believe there is one difference though. I believe that Floyd truly picks his next opponent and Arum picks the next one for Pac. It's not that Pac has no input, but I do believe he bears less blame than Arum does when the fights suck.

I am, recently, a bit put out with Floyd for immediately running both Pacquiao and Khan down after their respective wins. I felt in both cases they had done what they were supposed to with their opponents.

Why are you guys acting like Mayweather-Pacquiao can't fight in June?

There's not much sense in discussing Mayweather with people who don't like him. Doesn't matter what Arum or Pacquiao says, they'll support anything other than Floyd. I've seen people supporting the temporary stadium ****.

    OK, who has Floyd cherry-picked?

And it's not like Pacquiao's guilt-free, either. He fights people at catchweights (Cotto, Algieri, Margarito, and De La Hoya were all catchweights), and he may or may not have taken PEDs.

That May 2 date is nothing more than an ego thing for Floyd. He likes to think of himself as the biggest thing in boxing, tbf he is, but he over estimating his worth. It will be a big blow to his ego if he's edged out of that date. There is no other fight except a bout against Pacquiao that will rival Cotto-Canelo. I doubt he's fighting Pac so I'm just waiting for his excuse for not fighting on May 2.

Last I checked A side calls the shots, if the A side says May 2nd then its May 2nd. Is Bob Arum trying to rewrite the rules of negotiation, it appears so

Instead of **** talking to the fans, how about actually discuss. He isn't known as a troll. Fact is, both have cherry picked fights.

Why..? If Floyd's been fighting in May/Sept, and he's the A-side, why should he give up the date? Plus, he'll probably be fighting in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, not Mexico.
