Lets say Canelo beats Cotto pretty impressive then he's willing to fight GGG.

Technically, how this fight would go ?:think

Golovkin beats him like a dog for a mid rounds stoppage. Canelo doesn't have the footwork to be a serious problem.

Canelo's chin is criminally underrated. I'm not saying he wouldn't get KO'd but his chin is better than 90% of the legit MW's chins

Golovkin puts him down in round 2 or 3 with a liver shot. People are very disappointed the fight didn't live up to the hype.

And Rios is a top welterweight... nobody takes you serious anymore.

Log off, stop giving Pacquiao a bad rep.

If he just jumps up and fights GGG immidiately he would get wrecked badly. Might play out different if he has the chance to get used to the new weight over time, optimizing rehydration for fights at the new limit etc.

He's come into his last five fights heavier than Golovkin has his last fights. He was 174 for his last one. Not sure how much bigger he'll get.

That's water weight, compared to Golovkin's natural weight.

The difference? Surely you weigh what you weigh?

I'll try to explain, bear with me.

Canelo cuts down to 154, after draining (sauna suit, steam room) the day before or day of the weigh in. So it's 154 lbs of muscle. When he rehydrates to 170, that's 16 lbs of water/fat :scaredas:

Golovkin on the other hand, is a more natural middleweight (not a small one like people claim). So when he weighs 160, there's less draining he has to do. Meaning he has 6 lbs more muscle than Canelo does, and that's a lot. I think he weighed 165-168 recently?

So it looks like this after rehydrating
    Canelo @ 170 = 16 lbs of water/fat weight
    Golovkin @ 170 = 10 lbs of water/fat weight + 6 more lbs of muscle.

Golovkin has less bloat and more muscle than Canelo. This isn't exact science but something like that.

Or it's possible Golovkin doesn't boil off as much water because he doesn't have to. He has stated he can make 154 if offered a big fight there.
