Fighters who did not have an obvious flaw

I know everybody lacks something, but who springs to mind for you here?

Has there perhaps even been somebody who was not truly great, who had a fair measure of everything?

Ricardo Lopez comes to mind.

Threw every punch in the book including a left uppercut. Perfect balance. Top notch combos and did not ignore body work. Good legs. Kept those hands up high. Smarts in the ring and that's a critical attribute. Listened to his corner. Well prepared.

Later on you could say his skin gave way. But guys in his division are washed up at 25 once those reflexes deteriorate a little.

 

vitali klitschko- unbeatable

 

joe calzaghe - great in every department, not one flaw

 

Dunno if he had bad hands but tended to 'slap' a lot.

 

Holyfield ( in his prime ) was very good in every department but not great in any for my money.

 

Non-greats with no obvious flaws(in their primes)?

Duran at lightweight was about as flawless as it gets. He had ferocity, determination, aggressiveness, speed, power, a great chin a great defense and he threw combinations pretty much non stop.

 

SRR in his prime, Pep slight flaw in power but made up for it in other area's...Benny Leonard...

 

Hagler did everything very well. Punched hard, had speed, defence, chin. Complete fighter in my opinion.

 

I like the other 3, Casas war vs Katsidis is a little discussed classic

I'd say Vitali Klitschko should be on here

Regarding Vitali, one could make a reasonable argument that he cut pretty easily, based on the Lewis fight. There were at least 3 cuts he sustained during that fight.

 

Marvin Hagler was the first one that came to mind for me just from my own era

 

I would say one thing Marvin did wrong was in the beginning of fights before he really turned it on, he stood quite square and was open to body punches.
