It's about the quality of opponents.

Otherwise I could argue that Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury are among the very best boxers in the world. Like, top 5 pound for pound best in the world.

    ...doesn't sound right, does it?

And thus you have your answer as to why "pound for pound" is relevant when having opinionated discussion about fighters and how their feats and skills compare when they can be in any of the ridiculous 17 divisions.

Because Mayweather is well-known to picking that date for his fights since 2007. Arum playing the "date" game is nothing new and has done this before to deceive idiots.

By reading this thread, it seems like most challenges are fake.. You can't even say who you want to fight next and when? That's stupid because that's exactly how people know you're serious about fighting them too..

I don't think there are fake challenges to be for real.. There's no point in fake challenges.. You might think one might issue one to seem like they're not "ducking" a fight, but non of us nor the media knows everything that goes on behind closed doors.. It's all high school he say/she say..

If one fighter wants to fight as bad as they say, almost nothing would be an issue.. For one fight against a guy everyone hates, I'll do anything to fight if I knew I'd win.. Then offer a rematch and I'll be the king.. Well, that didn't exactly happen with Floyd vs Oscar because Oscar still thought he was the king after losing...

So because Floyd said this everyone should leave those dates for him? Thats ridiculous. I hope Canelo does push him off those dates. Mayweather has too much of a grip on boxing. If he's that big a draw, he'll have good PPV numbers no matter what the date is.
I hope Canelo fights Cotto in may, the GGG in September

Floyd publicly called pac out with a date, their excuse now, we won't disrespect the Mexican community by fighting on Cinco DE mayo. Lmfathat's been Floyd date for 7 years Pacquio as even fought on that date twice.

Yet, you continue to ignore facts and blame Floyd LIke a child refusing to admit they are wrong

It's going to be mayweather-khan and floyd is just trying to get the may 2 date for it. Arum and Oscar is right for not moving Cotto-Canelo because floyd is just using pacquiao to get that date.
