Some great replies here. What a list of awesome boxers. How about these two fighters. Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti? Gotta love the battles those two had. Also Del La Hoya. What that guy done at such a young age is epic.
Lol you're just a hater. If Pac fought them you'd be calling them ATG's atsch Who wins: Gatti vs Rios?
gatti was a limited fighter c class fighter at best rios and him would be a competitive fight and have rios beating him
rios has a iron chin and he can crack gatti was not hall of famer like morales or bareera who were proven against the best names FACT! *****
I like this choice. It's not as painfully obvious as a lot of what we read here, and shows a well thought-out rationale that speaks to more than the typical "'cuz he wuz good and stuff" tripe. BTW, the movie was good, but if you haven't, read the book. One of the best boxing things you'll ever read. The movie took unfortunate license with the Max Baer character which I found troublesome. Baer was by all accounts a really nice, really funny guy who didn't want to hurt anyone and just wanted to have fun. The movie needed a villain character, I get that, but it was too "Hollywood" for me.
Don't forget Constable. I didn't think it was possible to be an arum**** but this eunuch proved me wrong.
Marvelous Marvin Hagler Joe Louis Naseem Hamed Mike Tyson Manny Pacquiao Edit - You wanted a reason, well it's hard to explain it but I simply like their fighting styles. I guess I like guys with skills and power. Hagler - Liked the fact that he could both box and brawl. Liked his counter punching and inside fighting. Liked his working class tough guy image. Louis - Liked his punching technique. the short, powerful shots in combination. Liked his quiet, respectful persona. Hamed - Liked his showboating style, ability to dodge punches and counter with huge, unorthodox power punches. Liked his funny, OTT c0cky attitude. Tyson - Liked his uber aggressive persona and fighting style. Liked the fact that even though he was short he would close the gap using his timing, footwork and upper body movement then explode with hooks and uppercuts with bad intentions. Pacquiao - Like the way he darts in and out with hard, fast straight punches and his combination punching. Like his humble nice guy persona and willingness to challenge himself against bigger guys.
I am currently reading the book and agree Bear was not the character the movie made him out to be. I think Braddock is the typical people's hero. A working man who came from poverty during the depression to become world champ. He then lost to Joe Louis but did put Louis down in the fight. Good post thanks
How can you call a boxer who at the age of 20 won the IBF world super featherweight title and then went on to win the WBC light welterweight title. Yeah Gatti got beat but a two weight world champ a c class fighter what a joke you are for saying that. I can't stand people who have pathetic opinions about fighters without doing any research.
