Christian Hammer is ranked number 4 by the WBO and 11 by Boxrec so he's a pretty decent ticking over fight for Fury whilst he waits for his mandatory shot at Klitschko's WBO belt.

I've seen Hammer fight 4 or 5 times, he's nothing special but he will present some different problems then Chisora was able to do.

This fight along with Eubank Jr vs Chudinov should make for an entertaining night of boxing action.

But this is number eleven in the worst division in boxing. The chasm between the top two or three is huge.

Its not a bad fight really. I was fearing worse. Hammer has no chance as he is far too small but he is not a total scrub going by his record.

Just checked his resume, if Tyson wants to get busy then it's a good fight for him. Hasn't lost since the end of 2010 and did beat some contenders (Johnson, Alrich, Leif L****n & Danny Williams) since then. However this year must be the year when Fury finally meets someone who can bang or a really legit top 10 heavyweight, hopefully soon.

Don't let his resume fool you. He's poor. All the fighters you've maybe heard of on it were either past their prime and coming off losses. Throw in the fact that he looked awful in doing it.
It'll be a repeat of his fight with Wach.

fury plays it safe again. oh well, it could be someone even worse. no idea how a short guy with little power gets fury ready for wlad.

Deontay Wilder fought a 50 lbs overweight journeyman who didnt train for the fight, was short and not much punching power as a stay busy. Christian Hammer is a top 15-20 level Heavyweight in his prime 27 and a great shape.

Leif L****n was the strongest professional boxer of all times. He holds one the of the most bench record ever in the NFL (National Football League). "At the 2000 NFL Combine, L****n bench pressed 225 lb (102 kg) 45 times, one of the best marks of all-time." Look at how brutally Christian Hammer knocks him out.

number one, i never defended wilder. number two, l****ns weightlifting has no bearing on his boxing ability, or ability to take a punch.

I thought fury was more interested in getting the wilder/stiverne winner? He would've had a better chance against them but oh well it'll be a fun fight while it lasts with wlad until Fury gets stopped.

Fury vs charr would've been fun also.

Fury deserves no blame for fighting Hammer. Yes, I would have liked to see how he does against a tall fighter like Dimitrenko or Ustinov but they are ranked lower and haven't been as active lately. But Hammer has a good ranking and overall is a decent opponent for someone who already has a mandatory shot in the bag.

Hammer may not be good preparation for fighting Wlad but then again who is?

Its a useless division. He's going to be safe no matter who you put in front of him.
