It is a shame that Randall Bailey isn't getting a fight.

The problem for him is that he's 40, can't draw and everyone knows he can punch. The best he can hope for at this point is the Rios/Alvarado winner. He'll still need to put himself on the map to make even that kind of fight happen though. Josesito Lopez? Cano?

Haha...fair enough. Alexander did make it quite ugly.

he can punch but he is slow and old and can't handle pressure. He needs a big KO on espn. I fear the fight is so soon I wonder if he is in shape. anyways if he gets a big KO, with any management at all, they could steer him into something exciting. he needs to fight guys that are not quick or fast. Lopez or Cano ok yes. A few KO's in a row and they can steer him into Rios or Alvarado. If he blasts one of them out maybe he could get a Meidana fight.

If they put him in there with Kahn or Alexander or Pac or Mayweather or anybody fast forget it. But steered properly he could have a great career end....possibly. It just sucks that he gets NOTHING.

I'm not saying this to hate on Bailey, he's a good fighter, but he doesn't do himself any favors with the way he fights, nor his number of fights in recent years. If he doesn't get the stoppage(and even when he does sometimes) he is a very boring fighter to watch because his workrate is so low and he doesn't do anything style-wise to distinguish him beyond the power. And when you talk about him getting nothing, even a feared boxer can stay busy against somebody so that he stays active to some extent to the boxing public. Since losing the belt to Alexander in 2012 in a terrible fight, Bailey has fought once against a journeyman where he won by DQ. He hasn't done anything lately to get anybody excited about him so calling out a bunch of good fighters and expecting a positive response with nothing to bring to the table is naive. I agree with the sentiment that with the right matchmaking he can have a nice career finish, but he needs a good showing on ESPN to start making noise again more seriously, and he can call out people, but there's only so long he can wait before lining up some other opponent to stay active.

What relevant fighters at WW would you give Bailey a 40% of winning against?

Depends on what you define as relevant, but I certainly would give him those odds against Rios, Alvarado, Lopez, and Cano as listed by the other poster. I would also say that he would have a decent shot(though not 40%) against Khan, since just one right hand from Bailey would probably be enough to take him out. And he's generally dangerous for anyone of course with his power. On the flipside though, ignoring the upper tier guys and guys already listed, there are fighters regarded as lower tier contenders who I think would beat Bailey without that much trouble, like say Alfonso Gomez, Paulie Malignaggi, and Luis Abregu. Bailey is really bad against decent boxer-types, because he's not able to match the workrate and they're probably slick enough to avoid his right hand.

Put him in there against Provodnikov .

Hes a lot easier to hit than Thurman is .

But then again , I don't think Bailey wants a career ending beating with a trip to the hospital .

Whenever Ruslan fights , the stretchers are brought out ringside .
