I agree with you there. Canelo, IMO, is a throwback.

Lara, Trout, Mayweather & potentially Cotto = Fighting the best.

not really.... not too many fights you can say he missed.

Margarito is a cheater so it doesn't matter
    cotto he fought
paul williams isn't even really a welter
    pacquiao still might happen
    fought mosley
    cintron is a joke
    khan still might happen
    berto is a joke
garcia still might happen (doubtful though)
    Thurman is a joke

and there's nobody at 154 that would boost floyds legacy

No Pac, no Bradley, no Khan, no Margarito, made Maidana wear his pillow gloves instead of puncher's gloves, fought Cotto only after he got the **** beaten out of him by bricked handwraps. Marquez and Canelo are his only good wins in years.

Legacy? 2007-2014 has been his legacy boosting years. He has beaten at least 4 future Hall of Famers while he has only fought top 10 and mostly top 5 or number 1 ranked opponents. One can easily point out negatives to viewing every fighters' resume but if you look at it like this listed out in a glass-half-full sort of manner, even with conservative low end rankings, this is pretty worthy of marveling at...

Top 10 JMW, future HOF Oscar
    Top 10 P4P Hatton
Top 3 P4P, future HOF Marquez
Top 3 WW, top 5 P4P, future HOF Mosley
    Top 5 WW Ortiz
Top 3 JMW, future HOF Cotto
    Top 10 WW Guerrero
    Lineal JMW Alvarez
    Top 10 WW Maidana
    Top 10 WW Maidana II

10-0 with 2 KO's... At two separate times between 2007-2014, Mayweather has simultaneously held these belts:
    2007- Welterweight Lineal/WBC & Junior Middleweight WBC
    2014- Welterweight WBC/WBA & Junior Middleweight Lineal/WBC/WBA
...how many other fighters, ever, have done something like that? Obviously to deny that being something special is odd.

The only negative is the amount of fights in that span. Even with the 08-09 retirement it would have been nice to have seen him fight once or twice more at some point between the Mosley fight, May 2010, and before the Guerrero fight, May 2013. And of course you can't deny that Pacquiao has been the #2 WW for a good chunk of the threads' time frame and Mayweather hasn't fought him whatever the reason. So that is a negative. Next worth mentioning Floyd having not fought between 2007-2014 would be, uh, Williams, Bradley, Lara, and Berto?

Bradley is with Arum.yes, the fight should have still happen.

But we can't just blame Floyd for that.

Overall Floyd legacy is sealed, and it's very good.too much hatred, and we tend underrate Floyd opponents everytime.

    Castillo,Corrales,Gatti,De La Hoya,Hatton,Marquez,Mosley,Cotto,Alvarez all future HOF'ers

Yes,it could have been better.but you have to be true hater,if you say Floyd resume is weak or wasted.

It's not just about who he fought, but when he fought them.

Could've been the guy to defeat a prime Margarito, prime Cotto, prime Pacquiao...instead he retired.

    Yes.

NOOOOO... he beats Baldi... The father of them all. That seal his ATG status. He also whooped PAC when Maroid did it for him.

I will do the same thing. Make money the easiest possible way. This is something everyone in the world tries to do. Only a mug will want to do more when they can do less for the same money!

Oh and the more he avoids the rivals the better as it means more people will talk about him.

    He is a genious :hey

Exactly! Yet he still carries the 'Money' moniker. Tells you all you need to know about the man...

He's genius that doesn't know how to read....nuff said. Honestly, I don't think you're really a fan of the sport if you support that kind of behavior.
