Training injuries happen, as do hand injuries in fights. They are part of the game to some extent. If all we can really say, is that Tucker injured his hand at some point during the fight, and it might have been in the 4th round, then that is not enough to invalidate the win. Did Tucker actively seek a rematch?
I Remember an article posted on here a few years back, i think it was interviews with 10 Tyson opponents and how they felt about fighting him, both Tucker and Smith were on there. Every single fighter on there bar one had a different excuse for why they lost.
Bernardo defeated one man who went on to beat Ali so he must have been better than Williams as well right? also the Douglas who tucker beat and the Douglas who beat Tyson were to VERY different fighters. The Douglas who lost to tucker, was lazy and unmotivated. The Douglas who beat Tyson was motivated by his mothers death, in shape, and would've given every fighter a tough night. Also you forgot to mention that the Tyson who fought Douglas was a joke. And Douglas still got knocked out, despite history teaching us other wise. Douglas was done for at least 13 seconds. And McCall fought an unfocused and untrained Lewis. It was a fluke. Lewis proved it by beating McCall in the rematch.
EVERYTHING said in that paragraph is wrong. "My right hand was broken when I fought him I knew Tyson couldnt beat me. A couple days before I was sparring against a guy named Young Joe Louis. This guy was doing a lot of talking bad about me. I heard this from my sparring partners. So I chose him to spar against first because I was gonna put him down. I was hitting him real good when I heard a pop in my hand When I went back to the corner I knew I had hurt it bad. The doctor said I had a small hand fracture. They said I would need therapy and to not use it for ten days. I had to fight Tyson in less than that. I went in determined though. I was very apprehensive to attack Tyson due to the hand. I hit him with a right uppercut early and my hand just shattered. It was the worst pain ever. I still went on though, thats why I did all those antics and everything. I was supposed to beat this guy, but how could I with one hand. With two hands I would have knocked Mike Tyson out. I regret that I fought Tyson not fully healthy. If I would have postponed the fight, I may have been blackballed. I wouldnt sign with Don King back then and he was running things. So looking back now, I just wish I was healthy." That alone disproves your theories that Tucker injured his hand during the fight, and in the 4th round. Also if it did happen in the 4th round, that would definitely be more than enough to invalidate the win, as it is still early in the fight. Your statement opposing this has got to be one of the most stupidest things I've ever heard in my life, and I mean no disrespect when I say that. Now, I don't know if that's the stupidest thing I've heard in my life but it definitely gives it a run for their money.
Just reading this paragraph has given me a headache. You have more theories and agendas than a chapter in the Da Vinci code. All the best.
For what it's worth, Tucker was known (ie. reported in the press) to have a hand injury GOING IN to the fight, reported in the week leading up to the fight.
Total myth. I posted on another thread a link to the video clip that shows both counts in that fight simultaneously and they are exactly the same. Douglas got up and walked towards the centre of the ring under his own steam. Tyson didn't. End of.
Douglas took advantage of the count confusion just like another smart fighter, Gene Tunney did 63 years earlier.
Yeah and all the Tyson nuthuggers take whatever their idol says as gospel when making excuses for his losses or bad performances....
