Eubank was shot and over the hill. That IS a fact! It's not like he was the 1990/1 version of himself was it? Ward SCHOOLED Kessler. I watched Joe face Kessler live, and that was a VERY competitive fight. Ward's fight with Mikkel was as one-sided as it gets. No, Ward was a lot less known than Joe. He had no big wins or been in with any names, yet he OWNED Joe's second best win like it was nothing. Reid was a nobody. Lacey was a nobody. Wins over Abraham and Froch are better.
Its a shame Reid wasnt interested in facing calzaghe when champ, but tell me how YOU think it is debateable Ask yourself this. How could you not score rounds 2, 3, 4,7, 8 ( This content is protected ), 12 to Calzaghe? Remember Reid had a point deducted also. I thought like 2 judges that Calzaghe was a clear winner and except for McCrory who scored a draw when sat ringside, all of the other studio guest scored wide for Calzaghe including Mcguigan and Eubank. I also think it was round 4 when Calzaghe damaged his hand. Calzaghe won and I felt he also won rounds 1, 9 (Reid did land the punch of the night in round 9 though) & 11, with the other rounds I noted. Still please answer the question Good away win for Calzaghe
Why not mention Hopkins, do some research before making silly comments. You say he went out beating shot fighters. Just look at what Hopkins done AFTER Calzaghe beat him. I agree Jones was past his best but you can't say Joe didn't beat accomplished boxers. Your comment is spoken like a true American who can't handle what Calzaghe did to the best you had to offer in the SMW division.
Calzaghe said himself that Jones was completely shot and that fighting him was totally pointless, yet he still cynically went ahead and did it anyway and a few idiots still lapped it up. (although not many Americans as the fight was a total flop) It would be like walking into a car showroom and the dealer telling you that the car you are looking is terrible, not worth buying and he will just be ripping you off if you take, and you then turn round to him and say "great, I'll take it". That's the mentality we are dealing with here with Calzaghe fans, complete cretins.
