My thoughts? Canelo wants the date out of pride, he said he's "taking it BACK", that is not something you say when you have it already. And the date is irrelevant because that is absolutely no excuse for a fight not to happen. So everyone can drop that.

I can't believe you guys are falling for Arum's ****. Mayweather has fought on Cinco de Mayo for years and it didn't become and issue until Arum said so.

Now I see the truth, Floyd will get blamed for everything.

Biggest fight deserves the biggest date, end of story. Bob Arum is ruining boxing. Floyd is also hard to work with. Both are guilty. Together they make boxing suck. Pac is guilty of being a tool but not of ruining the fight. Even if he loses to Floyd it doesn't ruin his credibility, so why should he care? Only Floyd suffers in a loss. Arum and Floyd are the bad guys, Pac is the moron stuck in the middle. Arum's conflict of interest and greed are unethical and unreasonable. Take the 10 million or whatever and stay out of it. That's a lot of money for doing nothing. How much more money does an 80 year old man need? They have all worked together to make boxing a joke.

The real reason is to have a big advantage or to duck Pacquiao. If Pac/Floyd and Canelo/Cotto are both on May 2 , it's not possible for Roach to train both Pac and Cotto at the same time since Pacquiao do majority of his training in the Philippines. Even if they move the Canelo/Cotto fight in June, it's still not possible for Roach to train both Pac and Cotto with only few weeks gap . Pac/Pac's camp will ask for different date and Floyd will decline it and he will tell the fans/media that he tried his best to make the fight.
