The man-child just can't handle dealing with adults. Like a immature child, he either want everything his way or go back into his bubble.

Literally the only source for this is Rafael, who's been feuding with Espinoza and Showtime for the better part of a year. There's no word that Top Rank has made any effort either aside from a single meeting with Moonves. They have however apparently erected a roadblock regarding the date of the fight.

The date doesn't matter if the fight is made. People will pay to see the fight regardless of date. The man-child's fragile ego wants the date, but he doesn't understand what it takes to make it work.

Arum knows full well he need to let HBO have the date if he plans to keep a good relationship with the network. If Pac fights on Showtime and they fight on May 2nd, HBO is losing out big time and so does Arum's fighters, that's why Arum is trying to create a win-win situation. HBO gets the date for Cotto/Canelo and Pac gets to fight on Showtime. Both networks win.

Everyone is trying to make some compromises except for one person. The date is just one of a long list of things the primadonna wants.

Feuding? Rafael is an independent journalist (as in he doesn't have any ties with Top Rank, CBS, GBP, or Mayweather). Last time him and Espinoza had a falling out was when Espinoza released misleading PPV numbers from the Guerrero fight and Rafael had to correct him.

You just said it in your own effing post. No word that Top Rank has made any effort yet they're the only ones doing any meetings. I guess that isn't making any effort, though. I guess the meeting was just for giggles.

You haven't mentioned a single compromise Top Rank is making to get the fight made here. Arum's said all along it would have to be a joint PPV with HBO involved anyway.

The fight will only happen on one network. I think Arum is willing to make that happen for Showtime (compromise), and it could happen if HBO gets May 2nd.

Showtime get their mega event and so does HBO. Arum originally want a joint PPV because ALL his fighters fight for HBO. If he put Pac on Showtime without giving anything back, HBO is not going to be happy because they give him so many dates.

That's how it's going to work. Mayweather get his wish to put on it Showtime and HBO gets May 2 for Cotto/Alvarez.

Can't do business with Toprank. Arum is trying to snow the public, just like he snowed you. Floyd- PAC is not happening. It will be Cotto-Floyd on May 2nd. Today's Cotto is much tougher opponent than today's Pac.

"ATG fighters don't duck" in football defensive backs make business decisions all the time and avoid tackling beast mode and the bus. Ducky is making business decisions.

The skill of ducky cannot be denied. ATG top 10? top 20? top 30. Atg top 30 yes. However if Ducky beats Pac he jumps to my ATG top 10

No they've also been arguing about whether Espinoza has any role in the negotiations or not. It would be interesting if he didn't since he had details of a previous offer turned down by Top Rank. Rafael's formal independence has nothing to do with his biases, and this information didn't even come from something he'd support an article but instead a mention of what he'd been hearing in a chat.

And as for effort, wouldn't uh actually getting in touch with Mayweather's representatives actually constitute a wee bit more than having one meeting with Moonves and crossing one's fingers (and repeatedly declaring you're more focused on knocking Mayweather off the date)?

You've constructed a compromise in your head to justify Top Rank's creation of another obstacle for the fight. Nothing from Arum has indicated a willingness to have the fight take place exclusively on Showtime, and just last week he was talking about Moonves and Plelper meeting to discuss the fight. Plepler wouldn't have to be involved at all if it was anything but a joint PPV.

No, Moonves and Showtime own Mayweather's contract. Plus, we all know that any fight that happens will HAVE to happen on Showtime. Having the initial meeting was crucial, but Mayweather hasn't even answered Moonves back. If Mayweather isn't answering the guy who owns his contract, how the heck can they even get in touch with Mayweather's representative.

Rafael dropped an actual name. Les Moonves could quickly go to the net and disprove anything Rafael has said.

It's called negotiations. People meet to negotiate. That's what businessmen do.

At least Arum had a meeting with Moonves. That indicates he's willing to make the fight. Unlike the primadonna, who is acting like a baby again and refusing to talk.
