Yes Moonves spends his days scouring Rafael's weekly chat transcript for inaccuracies :rofl

Any fight that happens would have to be on both networks since HBO had to bankroll part of Top Rank's extension of Pacquiao. The intermediary thing didn't work back in 2010 and it would seem to me to hardly be sufficient for someone declaring he's willing to move hell and earth to get the fight made to settle for that mode of negotiation. Then again, Honest Bob's more focused on Cotto-Canelo due to his deep appreciation for Mexican history.

BTW, that one line chat answer you're treating as the Gospel doesn't say Mayweather is not answering Moonves but that their negotiations aren't getting anywhere.

So you concede now that you have no evidence that Arum is compromising both in general or in the way you suggest, but you still want to praise him for having a single meeting, the details of which are completely unknown?

That one line on the chat was recently repeated on boxing sites' news, including this one. Showtime Box now doesn't look at the landscape and research things anymore. I guess the company is blind deaf and dumb when it comes to anything boxing, please.

So now Pacquiao/Arum has to give in to everything Mayweather demands including stupidly having the fight go head-to-head against a possible Canelo/TBA bout. I guess we can't have this fight happen in June because June is off-limits for some reason.

Plus, this fight wouldn't even be in negotiation if the networks would war about the rights. You're talking about Arum compromising where is Mayweather at? All we've heard from Mayweather is talk while Pacquiao's team is actually negotiating. Where are your articles about what Mayweather and his team have been doing to disprove Rafael's claim, huh?

Oh snap, it was quoted on the reputable boxingnews24? It must be true then! Moonves better man the phones, and the lack of full length articles from Floyd in response indicate the veracity of what Rafael heard is beyond question.

Arum wouldn't have to go against a Canelo fight since Canelo's promoter says Alvarez won't fight that day if Mayweather-Pacquiao gets made. Seems to still not be Bob's highest priority though. I'm not the one that brought up compromises BTW, but rather have been the one disputing the notion that Top Rank has been making any.

It wasn't about being true, just that Moonves can quickly end the rumours. Umm... you do know Rafael works for ESPN which is pretty much THE sport's news place.

Reporters, anyone really, don't bring up names if they want to lie (outside of actual articles because they can use anonymous sources sometimes). He could've easily just said that Mayweather hasn't been negotiating without bringing up Moonves. As I said, his claim could also be EASILY refuted if you brought up a more recent article saying that Mayweather has done everything in his power or even stepped to the negotiation table.

Plus, Canelo has recently stated that he will not give up his May-date for anyone or anything. Canelo has been very, very consistent on this.

    Denmark football is not boxing.

American football and boxing Equal pain. And participants make business decisions.

Rafael mentioned Moonves' name in reference to Arum's meeting with him, something that's not new information for anyone whose been following the story. And he said as far as he knows Moonves hasn't gotten anywhere, which is scarcely different from Arum said a week ago on the scene. Again, this passing comment about what he's heard in a chat doesn't rise to the level of needing an extended refutation. Rafael passes off rumors he's heard all the time in that chat, some of which prove be true and some of which don't. This deeply revealing truth for some reason didn't warrant even a mention in an actual article from the guy who writes stories daily for ESPN, yet the lack of articles disputing it is supposed to be deeply damning to Mayweather?

Alvarez has declared he's fighting on the date no matter what, but it probably wouldn't be in the US or with a US promoter if Mayweather-Pacquiao gets made, most especially since you agree the US network he just signed to would be busy jointly distributing Pacquiao-Mayweather.

I'm not going into a debate about football and that girly sport where the athletes sit more on there ass then they do running aka American football:p

And just because US got a sickness called greed that has corrupted every part of you society including sports doesn't justify whatever point you making.

Ducking a fighter is maybe in US "good business sense" but in the rest of the world a duck still quacks and should not be celebrated or idolised.

Cinco de Mayo = Cinco de Mayweather.

Mayweather's fights are on May 5th.
The biggest fight of his career should be May 5th.

Arum SHOULD NOT be scheduling Canelo-Cotto on May 5th 2015.
But he is doing it because Canelo-Cotto is most profitable on that date.
There is a lot of greed and a conflict of interests.

European football they spend more time running which equates to ducking. and when somebody finally gets a good tackle or a good wack they pull out a pansy **** yellow card or red card. No business decision is necessary there is zero risk.:rofl:rofl

American football a player can be concussed just like boxing. Bring the pain.:hat

The whole time, Mayweather is only thinking of Cotto 2 @ 155 pounds for the middleweight title.

So Les Moonves, the CEO of CBS (Showtime's parent company) is lying when he says that he isn't getting anywhere with Floyd? Get out of here.

Floyd and Haymon can't risk him losing his zero. It's that simple and it's why this fight will never happen.
