It's impossible to tell if Pulev is any good yet, he needs to face more top fighters.
Yeah, he got destroyed by Wlad, but Ruddock was destroyed by Lewis.

As for Ruddock-Jaco, every fighter has an excuse for losing. Looked like Jaco just beat him by hitting back, fair and square. Ruddock had gone 8 and 10 rounds before, winning, presumably without asthma attacks. Jaco just came to fight and beat him. Of course, Ruddock improved a lot after that.
Who knows, maybe Jaco had freaking asthma too. Excuses are everywhere.

Watch him in another fight besides Wlad. Pulev is rather mobile for a big man.

Who wins here? I'd side with Ruddock at his best, but if he's not there, Pulev on points.

How about the excuse of having all but TEN pro fights and being years away from filling out to his fullest form? I seriously can't believe that anyone uses that fight as a gauge for how Ruddock would do in any prime for prime match up.

Yeah, but you say that about every Heavyweight these days.

The majority opinion on this forum was that Pulev had the size and skills to trouble Wlad. And you had a fringe picking him for the upset.

I think 42 year old Thompson is better than the sorry version of Dokes that Ruddock took out.

Even if Thompson was better than that version of Dokes, the difference was probably marginal at best. The thing that wasn't marginal was the decisive way in which Ruddock dispatched that type of opponent.

No you're wrong I like Stiverne for example.I watched Pulev's earlier fights on You tube and came to the conclusion he is **** .I always trust my own eyes **** the majority opinion. Bummy Davis said it would be a great fight and a stern test for Wlad .Who was right and who was wrong?

Thompson and Solis were grotesquely out of shape for that match, making for something like a combined 523 lbs. Thompson managed to throw around 1,000 punches but most of them were pawing type jabs. Not a performance that I'd give either man huge props for. Takem wasn't even that good and beat Thompson convincingly. Let's face it. Thompson is washed up and was against Pulev as well.

I would pick Ruddock by TKO late.

Pulev is a tough fighter and would give Ruddock some difficulty, but I see DR pulling it out late.

Pulev is decent Wlad is just on another level right now. I didn't think that fight would go well for Pulev. He did however come to fight and was game, truth be told he gave Wlad a tougher fight than anyone else since the Haye match. Still, Ruddock's best punch is the one that Pulev seems to have a blind spot for, Wlad couldn't miss with it and while Ruddock probably wouldn't get the job done as fast he would prob get him out of there before the final bell.

Pulev certainly didn't fight like "****" He did land some good shots, including a right hand that stunned Wlad before being knocked out and did do a decent job of rough housing on the inside.

It wasn't a great fight, but it was fun, and Pulev did push Wlad out of his comfort zone at times and got him into exchange. That's actually what got Pulev knocked out quicker than the average Wlad opponent.

And in Ruddock's signature win, Dokes was sporting a Buddha belly at 240 lbs.
