Im tired of People saying Martinez was shot after Cotto beat him!!!

Either you're a Floyd fan trying to justify the May 2th fight or simply a delusional Cotto fan. And yes...Martinez was shot big time and had no legs at all.

 

It's hilarious to me that people use Sergo's gentlemanly excuse that Cotto rocked him in the first round and he never recovered.

Chavez CRUSHED him in the TWELFTH round, broke his knee, and Sergio STILL got up and moved better than he did from the moment he stepped in the ring against Cotto.

~160lb Cotto is NOT hitting harder than 180lb Chavez. And Sergio isn't the kind of fighter who gets rocked and doesn't recover.

 

Martinez couldn't have been more shot if someone had actually shot him.

 

No doubt that Martinez was a shadow of the Martinez from Williams 1 and even from the Chavez fight. He had no combos, and seemingly light shots had him all over the place when hes taking way bigger from bigger guys.

That's exactly right, the knee is never mentioned, referenced, looked at, or even acknowledged in the slightest way until it's time to stop the fight...and you people don't think that's odd, lol. Not a "Sergio how's your knee holding up" or a Sergio "do you think your knee can make it, handle it, is up to it?" etc. You people live in fairy tale world if his knee was obviously a problem and there wouldn't be an interrogation or inquiry of concern.

 

as serge states above, sarmiento mentioned it repeatedly. i watched it with a mate and neither of us knew which knee was the issue, watched for a few seconds and laughed at how obviously it was the right.

Straight b.s. homey, I just seen the fight yesterday and can watch it anytime. The knee is never mentioned until the end of the fight, that's why Roy Jones had to shut up and eat his words when he said the fight was over after round one. Do you know how much the crew would've been talking about that had they mentioned it in the corner, Roy only brought it up a couple times after to try and save face, that's it.
