Now that Garcia will probably have a keep busy fight before his mandatory defence against Viktor Postol possibly through mid '15, do you think there should be a rematch with Matthysse?

Although Garcia won the fight with UD, it was a very close fight(112-114 ,111-115,112-114) and Matthysse was unfairly disadvantage as he got a cut due to a headbutt in the midst of the fight.

I think a rematch could be great, Matthysse is certainly a very fierce challanger who can actually knock out Garcia.

It was a close fight with great action. Of course a rematch would be great

I'd love to see it, was a great fight previously and will no doubt be the same.

i dont think matthyse fought a bad fight by any means and i went in supporting matthyse, i just simply think garcia is a better fighter and would prob beat him yet again. maybe in a few years if both continue to do big things then sure but not right now

People need to stop making excuses for Garcia's opponents.

I think everyone would love to see a rematch, especially given the calibre of opponent Garcia looks happy to face instead.

It was a quality action fight between two of the top guys at the weight - I'll watch that kind of match-up any day.

I'd rather see a khan vs Garcia matchup. I'd also love to see a matthyse vs broner matchup or maidana-matthyse

Khan simply got destroyed by Garcia and Khan showed nothing that indicates he could possibly have a chance in a rematch. Matthysee on the other hand was leading the fight by points until the headbutt cut.

People need to stop worshiping boxers. It is boxing tradition to organize a rematch if a fight was decided closely on points, which was the case with this fight. Refs gave 5 rounds to Matt and 7 rounds to Garcia, that's almost as close as it gets.

No need for a rematch - it would be great down the line but I would prefer to see both facing other opponents. Maybe Broner v Matthyess and
Garcia - Peterson (assuming Danny wants to stay at 140) if not step him up to
147 where a Khan rematch or even a Porter fight would be real appealing IMO

Are you implying I'm worshipping Garcia?

It was a damn good fight, and Garcia won a close but unanimous decision. I thought Matthysse was going to KO Garcia, but Garcia's chin held up pretty damn well. It also looked like Garcia was the naturally bigger man in there, so that could explain the reason why he was able to withstand Matthysse's bombs.

I would like to see it again, but only after Matthysee fights Broner and Garcia takes on someone else at 140. I can't think of anyone at the moment, but I am sure there has to be some new blood that deserves a shot right now.

Lets not forget that Garcia got beat up aswell.
I definitely want to see a rematch if neither fighter moves up.
