Is there a reason why he wants it in May and not in September? His pay wouldn't drop by a dime if it happened in September, no?

It'll be a good day for the boxing fans that are sick of failed negotiations and these guys not fight each other but a bad day for boxing business.

The worst part might be that both of them have proven that you don't need to face the opponent that the world is screaming for you to face and you can still be successful (read: rich) as a fighter.

 

Calzaghe pudwill never gets a mention in this category,but jc took this fight as a last minute replacement,if things went wrong and his 0 went he would be barely top 50 atg

Floyd didn't want to go near Margarito and Cotto. Manny wrecked them.

Manny will also probably end up fighting Khan (who Floyd seem's to not want a piece of). That fight will be Fireworks!

Ok, he could do with being a LOT more vocal, but that isn't his nature. But you can't deny that he is a throwback.

Once Floyd has gone it'll be great times for Boxing.

Maximum respect for him for earning those pay days, as I don't know how he does it. There's no entertainment value with him. Once his '0' is gone - and let's face it, that's all people pay to watch him for (to lose) - he'll be forgotten about in an instant.

He is just a businessman with a pair of Boxing gloves...

I'll be gutted when Manny goes, as he is PURE entertainment. And has been for many years. Just a little dude that beat the brakes off bigger guys.

 

Cinco De Mayo benefits everyone involved, not just Mayweather.

Well, nothing will ever be bigger than FOTC. If they had fought in their primes before all this nonsense, maybe top-10. Personally, Floyd does nothing for me. I don't feel any great anticipation or anything when he fights, just another night at the office, done and forgotten as soon as it is over. And its not going to happen anyway

 

The sad thing about this is that both men are fighting at the same time.

This isn't an Ali/Tyson fight. A mythical fight from two fighters of different era's.

That's the tragedy, IMO.
