It's easy for everybody here sitting on their couches, drinking their beer, just getting home from their 9 to 5, to say it doesn't matter when they fight because it will make a ton of money regardless. But when you are a boxer close to your retirement you probably wanna maximize every frickin' cent made on every remaining fight you have left. Because after that, those million dollar checks are done for the rest of your life. And that means fighting on the date wildly considered the best money maker of the year.

That is all there is to it. If I were Arum, making the biggest fight in decades is my #1 priority. PERIOD. Nothing comes before that. Retirement is too close to risk screwing the pooch over a date. Canelo wants Cotto. ODLH said they are willing to move if Pac/Floyd is made. Pac will fight whenever. So that is all I need to know. Hands are no longer tide. Time to focus on the #1 fight and handle the next when/if contracts are signed.

I really don't see what is so difficult about all this. Everything seems cut & dry to me. Money split should be the only issue at this point. Move some numbers around and get it done. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy!

 

Pac and Floyd wanna fight NOW! 5 years and counting. Remember? Neither has an opponent and who knows what might happen by September. Another fighter may have an impressive year. Maybe an injury occurs to one of them. Who knows. It's been long enough. Time to go all in.

 

I see it the other way. I think it will be one of Mayweather's easiest fights.

I have to believe that Mayweather is going to be so focused mentally for this fight after all the **** talking, that Pacquiao's going to have a difficult time landing a scoring punch.

May and September(both Mexican Holiday months) are the 2 biggest fight dates available. I'm guessing they will be fighting for control of the Sept date next.
