    :yep

Yeah, that's my preference, but I was making a serious attempt to be fair and honor the official results placing Ruenroeng where I did.

I see you flipped Gonzo and Kov - I guess I'm okay with that. :think (more than I would be flipping anyone else...Crawford is pretty firmly ensconced at #2 with that 1-2-3 punch, and Inoue at #1 even though unlike Bud only two of his three wins are on that superlative tier...while Pac & May are both as much clearly behind the aforementioned four as they're in front of the 'best of the rest'...)

Bradley II & Algieri over Agnew/Caparello/Hopkins?

Take away B-Hop, and yes, Pacquiao's two unbeaten victims are vastly superior to Kovalev's. However, if we say that Agnew/Caparello combined cancel out Algieri (fair enough, I'd say - yes he did hold a title belt, but he was hardly a longtime fixture on the world scene, had only just arrived, and was moving up a division here graduating from essentially still FNF level - so I think assigning him equal value to Agnew & Caparello combined is more than fair; to do otherwise would be an insult to them both as they're both legit fringe contenders at 175lbs and not bums) then we're left with Bradley II and Hopkins. I guess pick what you like, there. Bradley obviously is prime and undefeated, while Hopkins is the lineal 'man' at light heavy. The more historically significant is Hopkins, and probably the manner in which he was defeated is more impressive as well taking into account his and Bradley's h2h acumen.

Yeah, it's Inoue. Outclasses the #1 at light-fly, outclasses the #1 at super-fly plus another ok win. Nobody's come close to that for me.

Fair point IB but Bradley was in his prime at the time of the fight, undefeated, p4p top 5 arguably on the back of a commanding win over JMM and a grueling war with Ruslan. He arguably had a better chance of winning the second Pac fight than he did in the first. On the other hand Bernard was after two solid wins over lets face it, average opposition but credit due, the Cloud win was immense before those two. Fair enough Hopkins got a whooping from Kov and it'd arguably should have been a KO but Hopkins regardless of his freakish ability to fight at the top at 50, he was 50, and nearly a decade or so past his prime whereas Bradley was in the form and shape of his life. Pacquiao beat the best Bradley we'll ever see, Kovalev certainly didn't beat the best Hopkins. That's why I gotta side with Manny on this one.

I just want to add something about people who are so gung ho on Walters being FOTY. I think the kid is doing all the right things and he looks really good. With that said, look at what Vic and Nonito haven't done in recent years.

The Vetyeka fight was a disgrace. Nonito getting outboxed in his second fight against Vic was telling. And Nonito getting absolutely pummeled by Rigo showed how limited he really is. Should I really be impressed with his wins over Arce and Nishioka? And what about the Narvaez fight? Nonito was made to look like ass against Omar in that fight and he looked one dimensional as hell.

My point is, what had Nonito done in recent years to make everyone believe that this was some kind of great win for Walters???

Now onto Darchinyan. He is old and has lost four out of his last six fights. Should we really be celebrating that as a great win for Walters?

Vic and Nonito both were really good to excellent fighters...in the past. Nonito's best wins were probably the first Darchinyan fight and the Hernan Marquez fight which were both ages ago. And Darchinyan's last good s**** was the Mares fight which I felt he probably won but was denied on the scorecards.

I just think some perspective needs to be put into place when talking about Walters' accomplishments this year.

And that's the point...you can dissect anyone's resume if you try hard enough. Some people on different boxing boards are trying to denigrate guys like Inoue by saying that he didn't fight anyone or that Narvaez really wasn't that good or what have you. When it's really more to do with the fact that they have no idea who the hell Inoue is and just how impressive his accomplishments are in just a short period of time.

Too easy to focus on the negative.

This could be done for every fighters every victory in the year.

lol. My reasoning was Kovalev really had no business fighting Agnew and Capparello. I understand he has to fight whoever will fight him, but for all intents and purposes I only judge his year based off the Hopkins win. Which was extremely impressive, but overall Gonzalez just did more that was significant imo.

Can't argue with Inoue and Crawford at the top though. :good

I may be ignorant but how can someone who's fought once a year be in line for fighter of the year? Fair enough if it's me vs Tyson but actual professional fighters it's a bit rich
