Eubank Jr might be making a mistake going in with Chudinov so soon

I think this could be a big mistake for Eubank Jr to take this fight this soon after his loss to Saunders. I don't think Chudinov is anything special. He is very predictable. He measures his punches with his left hand way too much. He's easy to hit.

Although, I don't think Eubank Jr is very good technicaly. He is quite sloppy and needs more time to craft his game. Eubank Jr should win this as Chudinov has a basic orthodox style but he apparently has some power. He has the confidence and has learned fighting Nielsen going 12 rounds to a UD. Which is something Eubank Jr needed before the Saunders fight.

I'm a bit suprised FW has put Eubank Jr in with Chudinov so soon. He should have been put in with a Nick Blackwell type of opponent first. I guess he's adamant about moving past british level.

If he loses this fight then it will take quite some time for him to recover from it. He'd have to go back to domestic level for awhile to improve.

Fairplay to Eubank though, shows some bollox going in against this kid after the BJS fight, but its all about risk reward, and if he wins then it pretty much sets up another big fight.

Assuming BJS beats Lee (big ask) then theres that fight, plus Murray will be coming off the back of the GGG defeat (im being realistic) add Ryder to the Mix and you'v got some huge fights if he wins

BTW - This is not a world title fight!!!

It's for the WBA interim middleweight title. It's a paper title.

I just think he could have fought Nick Blackwell first to recover from the loss and then go onto fight Chudinov.

    That would have been smarter.
And what does he accomplish if he beats Chudinov? GGG holds the actual title, wich means he would be levelled in minutes if he tries to take that one...

He doesn't accomplish anything. It isn't exactly a major scalp. It might move him up the rankings a bit. Chudinov is ranked four places higher than Billy Joe Saunders in 15th place. Chris Eubank Jr is ranked in at 34th place.

I don't know who's idea this fight was. If it was FW's idea or Eubank Sr's idea. I don't think he's been guided properly at all before going into the Saunders fight. He fought a tricky southpaw in his first step up and didn't look particularly good in doing so.

I guess he has to up his competition eventually but there's a sensible way of doing it.

Nah tbh I disagree I think... Win & he's firmly in the title mix , yes GGG would be a daft pointless early stoppage. But he'd have plenty of doors opened for him. Don't forget that Saunders promised him his first defence if he wins wbo , so I suppose this interim title would make his purse a little more level & that fight a little more achievable.

Lose & well it's back to the drawing board to revise the game plan to the top - but by no means is it the end of him on the international scene

Good to see him going into another tough fight but it could be a little too soon. He still seems a little too raw and rough around the edges. His power is decent but is it good enough to cover his obvious deficiencies? Unless he improves quickly in the next few fights, I can't see him being very relevant, especially if GGG hangs around....

I think its a good move. I slso think the only problem Eubank should have is the southpaw stance.

Don't forget, one judge actually had Eubank the winner!

The Saumders fight was a massive learning curve for Eubank and his team. Chudinov has the higher ranking than saunders and I was surprised by that but both Eubank and Saunders beat Chudinov.

I didn't give Saunders much respect because he always looked soft and like he should be at light middle but as much ad a learning fight for Eubank it was for Saunders. He had someone who pushed him hard and really make him think unlike the likes of Blackwell and OSullivan.

Saunders will get better from this but I feel Eubank had the potential to be much better and win any rematch convincingly. Eubank fought a stupid plan but Saunders was on point. Eubank has the more room for improvement.

It would not progress Eubanks learning curve to drop back to failed British title challengers. He's moving up. The only way I see him fighting a fellow brit now is if and when he wins the WBO off Saunders or the WBA off Jacobs and has a defence against a British name at home. He's now learning on the job and will get better and better.

When he started out he was stiff and his power didn't show much to the point where he is now considered a puncher and hurt Billy Joe a few times, something no one else has done. He went from fighting journeymen to getting a disputed split decision against a former olympian and current British, Commonwealth and European title holder.

I am now thinking that Saunders has the movement to honestly trouble Golovkin and is clearly better than id given credit for. He beats Lee and learns more still.

Both are going to be very good and will produce a very good rematch.

It's a paper version of the WBA regular paper belt making it a toilet paper title.

lol, I think it does put him in mandatory fort he wba regular belt, which quigg mcdonnel and froch hold in other divisions, which is half a world title.

think its a decent winnable fight, would rather CJE got commended for taking these types of fights rather than fighting a can for another 3round ko win.

I think they know they matched him to soft. They saw he wasn't far off winning v Saunders so why not take a decent test that gets him a good ranking. If they move him back to the journeymen it doesn't look good and he won't improve. I wouldn't bother with the British scene either if I was eubank jr. Good fight for me and hope he wins
