Is this not the same Paddy Barnes who made a big song and dance about a national anthem during the Commonwealth games?
Paddy's so confused with what's real or not. He say's everything with such heart, but all of a sudden his loyalty falls apart. I mean any Irish Nationalist worth his salt would have stuck to his own Nationality convictions and not participated in the pathetically outdated, British colonial jamboree in the first place.
As someone said Paddy is only after his own medals, and self importance and he's only happy to sell his ideas when it suits him. The guy stands for nothing and he can shove his gong up his 4rse it's got no value anyway.

The awards are nonsensical and lets not dignify them by talking about them. Paddy Barnes, on the other hand, is a hell of a boxer.

Of course, he's only after his own medals and acclaim. He's the one that does all the work and takes the punches.

And for the record Danny Boy isn't the official anthem of ANYWHERE

After the Eubank fight he said he would perfer to get another fight in and fight for the world title in the summer,(interview ringside after)
I believe it makes more sense for him to get Lee to England june/july for a bigger card than travel to Ireland in march,He would no doubt get a few bob step aside money and probaly a bout on the march card to boot,From a business point of view it makes sense,

That was just post fight blues...he expected to beat cej much easier andhe was a bit rattled, that's all.
Bird in the hand logic will prevail...always take the opportunity ASAP ... You never know what can go wrong if you dawdle.
Besides.....do you're really see andy going to uk? Giving up home advantage?

Stop trying to be a smart 4rse, STD.

You sign up for the Brit colonial jamboree then you sign up for 'Danny Boy' as your official National anthem. I mean Paddy knew the score, But the wee Blaggard waits after the games once he gets his medal to open his mouth and let his belly rumble about "Time for new flags and national anthems".
If He cared so much about his Entity instead of using it as a convenient disguise for his own ambitions then his dedication and passion would truly lie in the hearts and minds of the men in his beloved Country.

Dont know what all the song and dance about Barnes accepting an mbe,not the first Irishman to accept and wont be the last.

Ive said all along that ****** will get the fight to London, money talks, would have been better to have it in Dublin, but Andy's profile isn't high enough yet, when he beats bjs he can dictate matters then.

    I'm already bored of this.

I watch Paddy Barnes fight because he's a good boxer. I couldn't care less about personal politics/national identity.

Wayne Mccullough was probably my favourite Irish boxer as a kid,and he was a unabashed Loyalist.

I don't watch boxers for their political leanings. Mike Tyson has a tattoo of a communist on his shoulder which i think is abhorrent....doesnt mean he was the most exciting heavyweight ever.

Long story short.People need to get over this.
It makes no difference to the lives of anyone here what trinkets Barnes accepts/doesnt accept.

25000 then more on the pitch maybe

i actually don't care if he accepts the MBE or not but i do find the decision weird but you've seen him basically asking Hearn for a contract maybe if he thinks if he takes the MBE he might get a pro contract. but your right might as well stand for something instead of flip floping
