People don't generally believe Ward could beat a prime Calzaghe do they?

If I was anywhere near Oakland, I'd be inclined to find him and punch him in the face, just to get him active again.

When he retires, he's going to regret this period of his career.

I just want him to fight anybody.

I don't care who it is, or if it's just a ten rounder.

    It's driving me mad.

Wasn't Froch his mando for the WBC ? How didn't he earn his shot ?

The Chad that beat Hopkins I give him A hell of a shot to beat Joe .l mean if a Joe had serious pop than maybe ..But who knows then again both were lefties you can't just dismiss that version of Dawson..But with out question Joe's mental, toughness would give him the edge ..

Serious pop to beat Glass Chin Dawson? You do realise he was dropped 3 times by Ward and stopped right? Dawson has no chin and no chance against The Fighting Pride of Newbridge Wales. He would get stopped quicker than he was against Stevenson

You know what like I said the one the beat Hopkins ..That would had to be at LHW ..I would, have love to see that ..Joe has never knocked out anyone on the level of Dawson..So lets not exaggerate things now .

And do you not forget how easily. Joe has been dropped I mean Andre Ward dropped Chad look at some of the guys who dropped Joe one being Hopkins ..I never knew he had power better yet any power ..

:patsch So a man who dropped iron chinned Chris Eubank who says Joe is a huge puncher couldn't KO a man who got KO'd by Ward, who has less power than Malignaggi.

He dropped an old weight drained Eubank! You ever cut weight and fight ? Chris took harder shots from harder punchers back in his day so because a young Joe drops him he's Gerald Mccllen now ?

I mean really what was his best knock out ? Your saying he is stopping Dawson he didn't even stop Eubank!

Give me Joe's best knock out that didn't involve a ref?

Joe was great on the Euro level but i cant respect any "champion" who doesnt prove it in the Mecca of Boxing - U.S.A.

Eubank, robin reid, and Bika were decent wins. Lacey in retrospect is not worth much at all. Victory over prime/young Kessler shows he was the class of Europe.

Wins over roy and bernard in their 40's (At LHW) dont tell me anything at all.

Beating Andre Ward?? would be an ugly, fugly fight. In the end Joe has never seen speed or world class skill on that level - it would be telling by the mid rounds.

it dosnt matter how you cut it, joe was a powderpuff puncher who awlasy lagged in landing % of power punches versus good boxers. ALWAYS.

Power punching was a weakness in joe. he had weak arms.

that's not to detract from his best qualities such as outstanding stamina, good chin, great management etc. but lets not invent abilities for him - this is the joe who accidentally punches the fat old balding ref once and the blow had no effect at all. He was weak puncher, by definition.

Yet Chris Eubank was the one in there with these taking punches and said Joe hits extremely hard. An extremely hard shot is not required to knock out Dawson as Ward proved.

Knocking down Chris Eubank >>>>>>>>> knocking out Glass Jawson

Dawson couldn't take Andre Ward's punches. Keep repeating that to yourself and realise how stupid your argument is.

Joe stopped FAR tougher fighters. Mario Veit, who he stopped twice has a much better punch resistance than Dawson. See Joe first fight with Veit, picture Dawson not getting up from knock down 1 either because his legs are too gone or he quits again and you have an idea of how a 'Zaggers v Glass Jawson would play out. :deal

    Hans,

Nobody could have taken it for granted that Joe would have beaten Chad in 2008, at 175.

That wasn't the version of Chad who fought Ward and Stevenson.

Styles make fights, and how many top southpaws did Joe beat?

It certainly wouldn't have been a foregone conclusion.
