By the time Witter started fighting world level opposition Hatton was already a champion.

By the time Witter was "champion" Hatton was fighting Floyd.

If Witter wanted the fight he should have stepped up his comp earlier. It's a shame the fight never happened as Witter would have been thoroughly dominated.

Oh and also didn't Witter get the chance to fight Magee but bottled it? He def refused the fight and if I'm not mistaken winner was to get Hatton ( could be wrong).

Witter only stepped up his comp in 2005 fighting Ndou, at that time Hatton was beating ATG Tszyu. He then unified by beating Maussa a man who also beat arguably Witters best win over an opponent in Harris.

Witter fought one opponent which was Judah the rest up to Ndou were all British journeymen and African taxi drivers.

Even in his "title" reign wasn't the best. Corley, Harris and Morua hardly inspiring. Hattons WBU opponents were better.

In nobodies eyes do you have to defend a title 3 times to be deemed the champion you tit.
