Taylor is making a voluntary defense against IBF #13 Mora. He was given a six month deadline in October by the IBF to sign to fight his mandatory, #1 contender Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam, unless he exercised his voluntary defense option with the stipulation that he could only choose from the IBF top 15.
Yes. Taylor announced it on his Instagram, confirming the rumors. He worded the post "Next fight Sergio? I'll drink to it..." along with a picture of himself sipping a cognac. This led some to speculate he meant Sergio Gabriel Martinez, but Maravilla wouldn't be an eligible choice being unranked in the IBF top 15.
I actually thought both of Mora's defeats at the hands of Vera were legitimate based on sheer work rate (not something I normally score on, but Mora's output was untenably anemic) but he could actually outhustle Bad Intentions and will almost certainly land the sharper, more accurate blows as he was missing Soliman in humiliating fashion...and Soliman is a swarmer, not a negative slickster like the Latin Snake. Taylor is more powerful but Mora's chin is too good for that really to matter.
WHAT?atsch This guy is the gift that keeps on giving. Not to be a pain in the **** but what were the circumstances? Thanks in advance.
Not that awful a fight I still think Taylor pulls it off, will be a lot closer than the Soliman fight though.
:-( Boxing is going through the worst stretch I think ive experienced yet as a fan. There seems to have been a huge decrease in ambition within boxing and this complete sacrificing of competitive spirit for the sake of safety and money. While that line of thinking within reason and in balance is an important part of boxing and is good for the fighters, the extremes its seemed to have taken largely thanks to mayweather and al has perveted the sport, imo. Whats funny about this fight is that Taylor could very well lose to Mora.
Yes, next. Actually if Taylor retains and goes to jail they will probably strip him and make HNN vs. TBA for the vacant title.
