I will probably regret it but I will take Wilder to pull off the upset. I know this fight is probably 30:70 against him but I have this gut feeling he could get Stiverne into trouble in the first 2-3 rounds and then finish him with a series of ridiculous haymakers.

The real weird thing is that boxfans everywhere are picking Stiverne, while the bookies favor Wilder :conf

    Stiverne 13/8
    Wilder 19/29
    Draw 35/1

Bit of an iffy call. Should have re matched him to prove superiority though.

He was clearly hurt but was also clearly throwing back.

Definitely Stiverne, and I sincerely hope he keeps the title.

Or will it be a very quick blowout and anti climax ? How many rounds do you think this will last ? Of course there is high chance of a short fight seeing as they are both big punchers....but if Stivernes chin holds up and it takes him a few rounds to get Wilder out this could be a great fight to watch for as long as it lasts...maybe in the vein of Haggler v Hearns if we're lucky. On the other hand if Wilders chin is the grade of china that many on here predict it could be a very quick fight with Wilder out in 1 or 2 rounds. as much as we all think we can predict what is about to happen the truth is nobody knows until you get these guys in the ring and the bell rings. Just hoping it gives excitement enough to go with all the months of speculation......

My prediction. Black wins by TKO in the first 4 rounds. One thing I'd hate to see is Wilder blows Stiverne out in 1 like he has done with many of the cans he's fought thus far. I'd love to see Stiverne take it to him from the start and put Wilder on his back foot. Going backwards a puncher is never quite as effective if they cant get their feet planted.

I have a degree of confidence in Stivernes chin..as I've seen him eat a few bombs in earlier fights. Wilders chin I have little confidence in..but with his power if he lands first it might not matter...his luck could hold out until someone finally does crack it. If Stiverne can hang in there a few rounds and take it to Wilder then its not hard to imagine the hype train grinds to a halt.....we'll have to wait till Jan 17th (2weeks today! :happy ) to really find out....

Stiverne's behaviour is difficult to predict. In both fights with Arreola (especially in the second one) he was inactive in the beginning and waited for his chance. However, Arreola was just to be countered in this way. This time Stiverne would better put pressure on Wilder from the very beginning, which I doubt he would.

I totally get what alot of ppl say about Wilder and his chin but my gut feeling is Stiverne is not guna be the man to make him sleep. Hes got the tools no doubt but i dont think hes guna get the chance.

I think Wilder will come out fast from the start, Stiverne wont start so quick and will cover up and ride out some early barrages in a corner or up against the ropes but something will get through and Wilder will finish it early in the 2nd or 3rd.

I want to see Wilder take some big shots and see how he handles it. By the time Khan faced Maidana i was convinced 1 clean landed shot and hes gone but i think he took a couple in the later rounds, was hurt but somehow saw it through.

IMO if Wilder does pull off the surprise and knock out Stiverne it will be time to take him seriously. No matter if he beat tomato cans, then its time to acknowledge he's a legit top HW.

I know the comparison is off, but let's remember how people didn't take Mike Tyson seriously because he beat a dozen and a half tomato cans before meeting Berbick. And then everything changed.

Could Stiverne be Wilder's Berbick moment?
