Proclaiming that dates belong to Mexicans because it's Cinco De Mayo may be a smokescreen for angling for a REMATCH with Floyd. Could be the fight at 50 after the re-match with Paquiao in September...interesting!

To be easily beaten again and exposed as vulnerable against good boxers?

I don't think so. He knows he's not on that level.

Do you think Floyd chose those dates randomly?

It would be kind of odd if he switched to HBO just to call Floyd out on Showtme. GCreec, you aren't very bright.

I don't remember hearing a word out of Canelo's mouth about ever facing Floyd again. No even about a possible future matchup. We got to give Canelo credit for not being stupid at least.

    I dunno,
Outside of the ring maybe not but inside the ring Lara made Canelo look pretty stupid.

No one wants to see another sparring session between Canelo and Floyd.

Canelo said after the fight that he couldn't even land a punch. No way he wants that again. He's competitive against every other fighter.

He must be stupid though to think he can take away the Cinco De Mayweather date from Money Mayweather TBE.

It always seemed like a Mayweather- Alvarez rematch would be in the plans for both guys. It was such a huge money maker the first time that a sequel almost had to happen.

Even if a rematch only did 65-70% of what the first fight did it would be one of the most successful ppv's in history. Too much money in a rematch for it not to happen.

If Alvarez could have strung 3-4 nice wins together after their fight and with Mayweather getting older and further from his prime a rematch would still be sellable even though Mayweather won their first fight convincgly.

Now with them being on different networks a rematch seems unlikely. Maybe when Mayweather's contract with Showtime is up after this year there could be a rematch next year and it could be built around the whole May date they're fighting over but I think a rematch probably never happens now.
