Don't give me that "8 weight world champion" bullsh*t. Several of those titles were meaningless trinkets. At least four of his fights have been catchweights: De La Hoya, Margarito, Cotto, and Algieri.

He's not the best in terms of skills either. He has always relied heavily on his athleticism. He has poor balance, he drops his hands when he punches, and he tends to lunge.

He's undoubtedly an ATG. But he's nowhere near the GOAT.

 

I will only critique the 8th weight class (I could go deeper but we'd be here all day).

Explain how you can take possession of a world title,

1. not being ranked by any organization at that weight
2. having never fought in that weight class
3. never having fought someone in that weight class
4. challenging someone for that "title" who is not ranked in that weight class.

I will even disregard not even fighting at the weight class limit. I've no problem with him being considered a 7 division titlist. 8 is not accurate.

 

that's kind of a separate question I have..... like does his technique even matter? Not in regards to being the GOAT, but just generally does technique matter.

Does technique matter? What kind of stupid question is that? Of course it does. The point is, Pacquiao gets away with it because of his athleticism.

His tendency to lunge is what caused him to get KTFO against Marquez.

No. I really like Pacman but I can't possibly think he's the GOAT. That is probably Isaac Frost.
