Opinions aside - I think it's good to have someone from the industry on the forums actually. I've seen Billy get a lot of stick on here and stays here all the same.
Wherever I agree with what you say or not, I think it's class to have the thoughts of someone in the game as opposed to all the wannabes like most of us

 

its all about opinions but some are just down right silly, I think most fans don't have a full understanding of the industry that would in many cases change there opinions

 

He does get to much stick but the again he is a sweaty sock.
I like hearing about how fighters prepare for fights and as ive said i find journeymen very interesting, work a day job, train most days, watch what you eat then fight each month mostly losing and sometimes taking a beating now that is commitment.

 

Have read the thread and apart from the above, is there an answer to what Billy did?

Billy you've said on here a few times (quite categorically) when it's came up that Ricky Burns won't ever be back with you, is this because you don't think he'd ask or is it because you wouldn't have him if he did? I know (from your posts)that you're on decent terms and i'm genuinely not mischief making, I loved Burns run as champion and would love a repeat however the longer he's with current set up the less likely it seems. I personally view it as being the same as Groves and Adam Booth.

 

I just don't think it would work a second time that's all. We had a great run together and we both have great memories but now I want to concentrate on the lads I have who are all improving the way Ricky did, Ricky may be coming to gym tomorrow to hit the bags before he goes back to London next week, there's no problem with him and me whatsoever it's just folk mischief making.
I hope Ricky wins another world title has it would have a knock on affect for all the other Scottish lads

 

Cheers Billy, as for guys that seem to go out of their way to antagonise you: Where else would we have such an opportunity to have our views/questions answered personally by a trainer who has achieved what Billy has?

 

This post has been a good read. Most of what you are all saying seems genuine. Better than a lot of the pish that gets brought up in these forums.

 

Good to hear Ricky is still using your gym Billy, is it ex Amateur Stars you have in your gym now,I know you train the lad Brophys

brophy, Slowey,ally black, Mohammad Babazadah,Lewis Ritson next month and there may be two more in march who are exceptionally good from abroad
