A classic in my book that got me hooked, sorry for the poem:lol:, is and was the heated disdain between Joe and Ali and also Vinny Pazienza and the all American good boy Greg Haugen.

I guess the others that come to mind more recent are Maidana and Broner.

Please feel free to include some of your favorite heated rivals in boxing:bbb

Yes we all know PAC and Floyd but they have yet to face off in the ring:nut

Larry Merchant is right on the money when he names Roberto Duran, Carlos Monzon and Ricardo Mayorga as the 3 guys who showed the most disdain for their opponents.

I don't think Pac and Floyd despise each other. Bob and Floyd, that's another matter.

Pazienza rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Mayorga too.

Carmine Basilio said Ray Robinson was the biggest a-hole he ever met.

But Jake LaMotta and Ray seemed like they got along fine, at least in later years.

Very true but Mayorga had Larry fire him up a smoke in the ring which will forever be a classic:smoke

Mayorga was an act, a great entertaining one that worked for him, but an act nonetheless.

His respect for his opponents after the fight, especially everytime he got KTFO proves this.

You think Oscar's dislike for him was an act?

    Two good shouts

    I'll add Barrera Morales

Edit - actually although Benn clearly hated Eubank, i dont think Eubank hated anybody. A true gentleman was our Chris

Morales was quoted by lamps (I think in the Maidana fight) as saying he genuinely hated every one of his opponents...
    Terrible was the man
