How would Fernando Vargas do in 154lbs today.

Against Lara, Cotto, Canelo, Andrade, Kirkland, trout, clottey. And in fights against Margarito and some of the bigger welterweights. Brook, thurman, porter. I havent watched all his fights but i remember him, and he was quite quickhanded, good power, good bodyshots, strong lefthook and heart. He lacked a defence and his chin could be cracked, it wasnt pure glass, and had slow feet. He was a rushed fighter and his resume is tip top, he loses in top fights dont look good, but he never went down without a good competitive fight.

The current crop of 154 fighters are solid. Vargas would do very well to fight all the top guys and not lose to any of them.

Beats everyone, draws with Floyd. Tito was a monster at 154 and at his best. Had Vargas not been disrespectful to Tito prefight and **** Tito off making Tito go on the attack early, which was not characteristic of Tito, the fight might of had a different result. Vargas was very good, all around fighter. I think only the greats at 154 like Tommy, Jackson, Tito, and perhaps Norris beat a prime Vargas. Oscar and Shane didn't get the full package like Tito got.
