    No worries. :good

I've never heard of that story. I looked for a video of it on Youtube but I couldn't find any footage. I saw a few photos of his injured face though.

Yeah, that does seem ridiculous. I'd much rather take a right hand of Malignaggi than that guy, although I suspect that even a bare fisted punch from Malignaggi would be a fair bit harder than many would anticipate it being.

Like I said, that boxer who killed a man in the article I posted was a both a big guy and a known banger who scored some pretty eye-catching stoppages in his career, what on earth was he expecting to happen when he hit that guy? Even if he didn't put all his weight into it surely he must've known he still could've seriously hurt him.

Google "Kermit Washington-Rudy Tomjanovich fight", although it really wasn't much of a fight. Rudy was a big guy also, about 6'8" and Washington's punch shattered his face. I wouldn't want to be hit by Paulie or Mayweather, either in gloves or bare fisted, to be honest but a punch from a guy like Washington would be much more dangerous.

:lol::lol::lol: @ adults on here talking about 'registering' your hands as weapons. Are we in 5th grade again? It doesn't exist.

Conversely would someone with an Iron Chin have to register it because it can take insane amounts of punishment and wouldn't be fair in a fight? :rofl:patsch

Everyone's hands would be considered a deadly weapon if they attempt to use them in that manner....

Thanks, I found it. He whacked that guy good. I couldn't hear what the people being interviewed were saying as the sound isn't working on my PC at the moment, but it looked like one of the guys was trying to insinuate (maybe I'm wrong about that though) that Washington was just defending himself from Tomjanovich who was about to attack him. It didn't look like that was the case to me though. Tomjanovich looked like he was running over to try and diffuse the situation and Washington just cracked him in the face hard.

So if someone walks up to you and hits you upside your head, you have to warn them that you are a trained fighter before you defend yourself? lol I better stay away from Australia.

The "registering your fists" thing is urban legend. Prosecution may, however, use it against you if they can prove you have so much as competitive gym experience (hard sparring or smokers, even) - let alone verifiable amateur or professional bouts.

If you are trained in any sort of combat sport, there is a presumed responsibility on your part not to get into melees with laymen. There is no strict legal code regarding this but there is precedent of that responsibility being presumed and factoring into sentencing.

Aren't you legally obliged to not fight them and call the police instead?

No, you're supposed to just not fight them period if you can help it. (I'm fairly sure, not proposing to know Aussie law, but this is how it works most everywhere in the 1st world)

You're really sparing yourself no grief by announcing it up front that you box. If you box, you're not supposed to pick on untrained people. Even if they are starting trouble, you're supposed to just turn your other cheek. Should it come to blows, you can suffer the brunt of the consequences in court.

Remember the words of Uncle Ben Parker..
