    one quite bizarre stoppage near the end of an elite heavyweight career. Why spam it over several threads?

    Besides his KO loss to Dos Santos there are other instances of Cain's soft jaw getting exposed whenever he gets hit with clean hard strikes. Kongo rocked him badly and he was forced to look for the takedown, Dos Santos wobbled him early in their 3rd fight and had him rubber legged from a very short elbow when his his back was against the cage.

    He doesn't get hit much so it is not that noticeable but his strike resistance is quite poor. The wall & stall style he uses is partly to protect his fragile mandible imo.

    UFC brass was selling Dos Santos as a fast puncher but he wasn't very fast. Fedor was way faster than him.

    A prime Fedor connects with a big shot, gets Cain on the deck and either finishes him off with GnP or chokes him. His cardio was good(much better than Dos Santos) so he could win a decision as well.

    Beaten up and quit against big foot and submitted with ease by Werdum....... Should I mention those as well :think

    He was 33 and 34yrs of age with those three losses...... End of his career only because the MMA world got more competitive

    By average standard those ages should be your prime years in fighting both in boxing and MMA

    Cain got wobbled in the first 10 seconds of his trilogy with Junior! His Boxing is really poor.

    Fedor via sub. Watch Fedor vs Nog & Mirko, for how great Fedor truly was in his prime.

    Nog was a decent enough tough guy for that era but Mirko was overrated and limited in MMA ...... A very good kick boxer that had some early success before the field worked him out.

    :lol::lol:

    He had the best TDD in the game. World class KO power and striking, the best killer instinct bar none... Nog was inhuman to pain and was THE No.1 HW on the planet BAR NONE when Fedor steamrolled him.

    Please do some research on the two mentioned.

    What's Junior then? A D-Level Boxer?

    Tyson was a completely different situation, a psychopath with demons, too much money for someone so young, he had leeches hanging off him and was a drug user and party animal...it's funny you don't mention Lennox Lewis as an example :yep

    We are looking at a majority of combat sportsman which all seem to peak about 30 onwards.

    People's body's age differently, fedor had been slipping way before the werdum fight! He was past his prime I think that's very clear to see, he'd had a lot of success and had been in great wars!

    This is one of the stupidest comments I've read in ages. How you fight largely determines your longevity. Boxers such as Frazier, Tyson, Marciano, Dempsey etc. were all washed up by their early 30's because the type of style requires an unbelievable amount o energy to pull off and by it's very nature it's a punishing style in terms of the amount you get hit. MMA is somewhat similar. As you get older you end up nursing knee injuries and all kinds of injuries sustained not just in matches, but also in training. Late 30's in either sport is ancient, unless you can fight like Mayweather and basically avoid getting punished.

    I'd take Fedor over Cain. In his prime he had unbelievable determination and energy. Not to say Cain isn't any good, because he is clearly top shelf, but I would go with the guy that out-struck Cro Cop and out-subbed Nogueira.
