Ward could easily have gotten it last year alright, but Darren O'Neill would definitely be the favourite in that division (even if Ward was there)! Also, last year was Phelan's first as far as I know (beaten a few years in a row by Conlan before he moved up to 56kg). Dalton would have given him a run for his money on the back of a good Commonwealth games.
ANDY LEE VERSUS PATRICK NEILSEN DUBLIN MARCH 2015, Dont like to say i told you so but for you Len ill make an exception, Delighted for him and the Irish boxers that will get to fight on a world title show in Dublin, Neilsen is a winnable yet respectable fight for Andys first defence, then BJS in the summer,Good times ahead for the likeable champion,
Great news, get john joe nevin ,quigley, Thomas McCarthy , jono Carroll vs gerathy rematch on the undercard and bring the Irish scene back to life
If your ever stuck for a job you'll have no trouble getting work as a shoeshine boy Puca,...you're great at " rubbing it in " :thumbsup Bad news though ..its already off..apparently they found signs of a pulse in Neilsen......
Ridiclous statement of all the things you can try accusing andy of (and you have tried most of them)accusing him of being afraid to fight a "live" opponent is def not one,:nut
I'd stop responding to this puca it's obvious trolling, anyone who's Irish and doesn't have a high opinion of andy lee at the very least as a person if not a boxer and can write stuff like that about him isn't deserving of a response
Lee to defend in Dublin on March 14 http://www.irish-boxing.com/lee-set-make-first-defence-dublin-st-patricks-weekend/ Heard about Lee in Dublin late last week, was going to do a 'rumour has it piece'... shoulda, coulda, woulda
Have to pull you up on that murph.. What do you mean ..write " that sort of stuff"... You'd swear I was libelling the man or something. All my comments are fair comments on his boxing, that's all. Iverepeatedly said I have a high opinion of Andy Lee as a man and as a boxer. There's no shame in being domestic level...few ever get anywhere near it. He is in good company..spike, murray, blackwell etc Ietc Ijust don't think he is a workd level boxer, man sorry an all if you don't like it but, tough!I was very impressed by his jabbing v Korobov, but other than that..overall it was a poor enough fight, and let's face it Nielsen isn't even domestic Irish Isles level.
Delighted Andy gets to make a voluntary defence of his hard-won title and hopefully bank a few quid. It's only fair. Just wondering though WHY BJS didn't insist on enforcing his mando position?
irish scene back to lifeatsch....17000 people turned out to watch frampton win a world title a few months back and 9000 will watch him defend that title.... the irish scene is not doing too bad:good now aside from that dublin baby yeah dublin:yep...here we come... go andy go:good
