I really like Louis and Ali as advocates of footwork that is perfect but opposed in nature.

There's no answer to this question really. Loads of standouts.

Of recent years PacMan is good!
There are obvious candidates such as Conn ,Pep etc, but I like a guy who is always in position to hit you but seldom around for the counter.Maybe not flashy but effective. Hagler had good feet and balance.

Currently lomachenko footwork is unmatched by anyone, mainly because his got incredible offensive footwork creating angles and making space for shots

Other guys with top footwork include wlad, mayweather, khan, ward, rigo. But I rank these guys lower than loma as there footwork is more defence orientated and maintaining range which is easier and a lot less impressive than offensive footwork

Lomachenkos footwork is his biggest strength and maybe the best Iv ever seen

Loma's footwork is a thing of beauty. Amazing stuff.

It's okay to say Rigondeaux because he'll duly fall into the all time bracket.

His wide stance helps him not only command range but generate power without every being stuck in the mud. Fleet feet often result in peppery blows, but Rigondeaux drills you while gliding about. Though a virtuoso Lomachenko doesn't get the same whip on his punches, partly because he likes to drown you with his talent rather than punish.

The paradox of always trying to hurt your man while generally being defensive-minded is what makes Rigondeaux so revered. In almost every manoeuvre there is intelligence and spite.

    As for a golden oldie:

One who doesn't get much attention round these 'ere parts - featherweight Jim Driscoll. On the point of footwork again, similar to our modern Cuban, Driscoll could glide and zero-in seamlessly. A simple jab and cross inflicted quite a bit of facial damage on Abe Attell in what was a pure boxing match.

All great mentions. Good comments on Rigondeaux.

I would add JC Chavez, Sr.

I have to say that I really like Ali's footwork - he just seems to float about the ring (in in earlier years) - he makes navigating the ring look easy. But I wouldn't have any issues with any of the names posted here so far :)
