He even won an Olympic gold medal at this weight when he was much younger. After that he pretty much clean out the 168 lbs division beating all the top guys. Why he doesn't want to move @ 175 where definitely the division is more stacked with talent ?

He only wants to fight GGG and Chavez Jr @ 168 lbs when Kovalev, Stevenson, Pascal , Beterbiev and Juergen Braehmer would gladly fight him @ 175 lbs.

At 168 lbs are a few challenges like DeGale, the Dirrell bros and Groves but these are incomparable with the challenges from lhw.

He's probably waiting until after he fights Jr. A fight with GGG would also be BIG if Golovkin is able to unify at 160 first. After that however, there isn't much left at 168.
Also keep in mind that it's very difficult to move back down after your body becomes accustomed to a new weight....especially at his age.

He probably doesn't want to stop cutting weight until everyone else does too. If you listen to his commentary on Mikey Garcia's last fight he talks about master boxers accumulating a series of small advantages which separate them from their opponents. If you start conceding things like weight, then soon you will have lost all of your advantages and look normal. At least that's what I gather he is thinking.

This is essentially what Floyd Mayweather does. He accumulates a number of small advantages in the contractual phase of the fight so that by the time he sets foot in the ring he's already won. It's basically the opposite of the traditionally confident fighter full of machismo who will fight anyone at any time. Guys like Duran used to love giving up advantages: height, weight, reach, age, just to look like a badass and prove how much better he was than everybody.

yeah probably this is the kind of thinking from Ward but if he wants to do something for his legacy he should move up @ 175 and fight those top guys. I'd dare to say that this lhw era with guys like Kovalev, Stevenson, Pascal, Beterbiev and Braehmer is one of the bests , if not the best lhw era. This division is stacked with talented fighters.

    Degale
    Groves
    Anthony&Andre Dirrell

would be pretty decent fights for Ward.

You can NOT be a pound for pound fighter if you have only fought in 1 weight class.

Yes you can. See Ward, Froch and Kovalev.

    Not Braehmer.

Unless he gets Golovkin there is nothing for him at 68.
