All over twitter from him & Vaughan saying "big big fight coming next"

Worth noting they've already had the press conf with Paul butler topping the bill & are set for another on Monday just for Derry...

So you're drawn to think it's a world shot, though I doubt it would be rich abril as I'd guess Hearn has sweetened him to keep him free for a matchroom fighter (obv crolla is out but Mitchell, burns)

Really got me wondering this , and if it turns out to be a defence of his wbo euro - then what a ***** up !

He retweeted an article yesterday saying its abril, has anyone else had a first world title shot after having 9 losses?

Derry has no chance at all if it is against Abril. Got outboxed by Coyle for the whole fight really until the KO, so think what Abril would do against him

Hope it's Abril -would make for a fantastic nights action with Butler - Tete topping the bill. Derry would have a real hard task but you never know he could pull off a special performance in his own back garden

Does it matter how many losses you have had? Not saying he deserves a title fight but it should be on recent fights and quality not how many you have lost, derry imo does not deserve a tile shot but good luck to him

with respect Abril isn't Tommy, Abril is an excellent fighter who has a very good work rate, IMO Derry v Abril isn't 50/50

Abril was very unlucky to not get the decision against Rios. Id never write Derry with that heart, those cajones and that dig but Richar is a serious step up from domestic and European level. Would love him to win it though and IMO he's paid his dues so a title shot is not undeserved

Johnny Nelson was 31-12-1 when he beat Carl Thompson for the WBO title.
