first fights i ever watched as a kid were in the early '70s.

from what i've seen of them lately, Manny dominates him with speed & volume. 5 years ago i think it would have been 50/50.

Manny will chase Floyd around the ring as he's constantly retreating, everytime Manny gets in close Floyd will lands a clean counter punch, Manny will then flurry and land few awkward clean shots through Floyd's guard here and there, Floyd will then either hold or run, and then you repeat that scenario over and over that's the fight in a nutshell.

Most of the Manny fans will think he won and most of the Floyd fans will think he won. And this time there will actually be a real debate because of Manny's awkward herky jerky movement, Floyd won't as land as much as he usually does. Manny's speed and use of weird angles he will land more than most Floyd opponents do, this has draw written all over it. A new quartet will be born.

Floyd wins because he is a rhythmnless fighter that is very difficult to time and this would make it difficult for Manny to use his vicious counter left. Manny has a very lazy jab at times and Floyd WILL counter it all night. Floyd is also capable of using lateral movement to his left that will force Manny to reset, since it is a classic case of the battle of led feet between orthodox and a southpaw(although this may not be as effective against Manny since he's comfortable moving to his left and mainly steps his lead foot to the outside when he throws his left or counter left hand.) but Manny is definitely less effective against fighters with good lateral movement.

Manny wins because he has different footwork than any southpaw he's ever faced. He likes to move to his left and probe with that jab. He is savvy enough to counter Floyd's counter over his jab. Floyd is susceptible to right hook counters from a southpaw, as seen in his fight vs Corley. Manny has developed a strong right hook over the years. Last thing Manny has fast, high volume combinations, so if he can get Floyd sitting on the ropes, he will definitely connect with some hard punches and believe me they're gonna hurt.

in order for Manny to land his blitzing combinations he has to have a guy stand in front of him, as soon as he faces movers he doesn't look so destructive eg Marquez and Bradley.

this fight will be a complete mismatch and Floyd will win a lopsided decision.

Not only is Floyd accustomed to fighting on the back foot, but hes got the longer reach as well. So Pacqiauo is going to struggle to get past Floyds jab, Floyd moves well backwards and side to side, everytime Pac sets his feet to throw some punches, Floyds already hit him and gone.

Not to mention Floyds jab to the stomach which will stop Pqcqiauo in his tracks.
Floyd also has the best weaopon one can use against southpaws, a great right hand, its fast and accurate.

Apart from a lucky punch or something crazy happening, Pac has no chance of winning this fight.

5 years ago it would have been the same story.

He only has a few fights left before he'll retire, but comparing Mayweather's fight with Maidana, and Pacquiao with Algieri, it does seem like Pacquiao has the fresher legs...which is surprising considering Pacquiao has a much more of a physically demanding style.

Against Algieri, Pacquiao was a lot less flat-footed than he was in the Bradley fight. He was up on his toes a lot more, bouncing around like he used in the old days.

Against Maidana, Mayweather's legs did not look as fresh as they did in the Canelo fight. Instead of leaping out of the way from a punch using his legs (like he did against Canelo), he would just lean out of the way, which obviously allowed Maidana to hit him more. He was moving a lot less. Even in the second Maidana fight where he stayed off the ropes more, he still wasn't as bouncy and quick like he was against Canelo. I even pulled up the vids side by side to compare, and the difference is obvious. Perhaps it was Maidana's style that forced this out of Floyd, but who knows.

Mayweather said he wasn't using his legs as much because he wanted to give what the fans wanted, but I don't know. When has Mayweather ever willingly put himself in a position to be hit like that. His motto is, "The less you're hit, the longer you last."

Sorry, I digress. Last legs, yes probably. But, his legs are still in surprisingly good shape. Especially, when you watch how they were in the Algieri fight. Up on his toes, bouncing around for all 12 rounds.

Pac does not how to intelligently apply pressure, if Floyd doesn't fall for Manny's feints (which I don't believe he will) it will be a long embarrassing night for Manny.

As a complete neutral in this as I dislike both guys for similar reasons, I see Manny chasing Floyd early on and maybe getting the better of it, maybe winning the first 6 rounds 4-2 or more likely 3-2 with one shared. Then I see Manny slow down as he is not as quick as he once was and I see Floyd countering Pac and dominating the last 6 rounds 5-1.
I feel Floyd is too good and too slick in this fight between two fighters that aren't quite what they once was but never the less still quality. I don't think either of them are able to hurt the other, Floys isn't a big punher and is not likely to KO Pac unless he wears him down for 10 rounds and systematically beats him up. I don't see this happening though. Pac isn't quick enough now to break through Floyds guard and defence, and with Pac not punching as hard as he once was at the lower weights I cant see him scoring a one punch knock out on Mayweather.

I will be surprised if Floyd can land his jab to the body frequently since it is very difficult to land against a southpaw but I do agree his right hand will be a major factor in this fight

Hes coming off one of his strongest years.

He easily beat a guy ranked in the top 10 p4p at the time.

    Any decline is minimal.

You're now pushing the agenda that if the fight happens and Floyd wins, it will be because Pacquiao has slipped.

Sort of like you pushed the agenda that Algieri was a legitimate opponent before their fight

Floyd also has a great left hook too which will work.

not to mention if Floyd does move back onto the ropes and leans back, Pacqiauo will still struggle to land due his much shorter reach.

its going to be a more entertaining but just as competitive fight as Lewis/Tyson was.

Pacqiauo wins the first couple of rounds, then Floyd figures him out and its school time.
